Forgive me for being a noob, but what is a nightly build?

A nightly build is a build thats updated extremely often. It got the name "nightly" because it could be updated so often that there's a new version every night.

Build = version of the program
Nightly = how often a new build is released

also different nightlys can be completely different then someones else's build. One can have a feature that the other one does not, and features can be dropped at any time.
personally i prefer the nightlys, i just like fast and new.

It has Savestates, Near Fullspeed N3DS, 1/4 Speed O3DS, and has a ton of compatibility and looks great. It crashes 10 minutes on average but with savestates, it's tolerable. Expect all issues (like crashing) to be fixed and speed boosted in future updates too.

I think they're the latest builds or versions of a piece of software that are not necessarily the most polished but contain the latest features.

but i just realized that any homebrew that has to do with GBA dosen't have a 3ds/cia ver critabg, retroarch and gba3ds. its like gba emu can be a .3ds/cia...

Well, I unterstand that this is alpha and it's OK when it crashes sometimes, but ALWAYS after a few minutes is not so good. Hope it will fixed soon because this is AWESOME

A 'nightly' is basically a quick compile produced once per day. Despite the name it doesn't necessarily have to be produced at night, but it should be produced at the end of the day. It is the very latest 'bleeding edge' build of the emulator produced once per day.

Any chance of a changelog for the updated builds, maybe just the important stuff, any speed improvements made or compatability updates

The last nightly brought more stability, and the possibility to scale the screen by pressing Y and chose the screen to render (lower / upper) by pressing multiple times.

Still no big improvement on performances on original 3DS though. Still great emulator! :-)

yeah it was faster for DKC3 than citrAGB when i tried which was cool, but still a bit slow to be playable

You can compile pretty much any homebrew as cia. Install a dev environment and try it out.

latest nightly has a bit better sound (still some staggering/echo) and isnt crashing on me anymore atm(about 45 minutes and counting ). And i freaking love that i can put it on my top screen now.
