I'm not worried, Nintendo games have never been about cutting edge graphics and power.

The wii had nowhere near the power of the other consoles of that gen but look at games like mario galaxy, where not at any point did I feel as though the graphics were suffering.

Sure the iphone has a better processor, you can't use it for phone calls so it might as well be useful for something.

Just like how the N64 and Gamecube were weaker than the competi- wait they wern't

Anyways more power doesn't just mean better graphics. What about physics, calculations, AI, etc

I'm pretty sure it went like this Dreamcast->N64->PS1 (barely, N64 and PS1 were almost equal I think)

I think the fact that the PS1 used CDs versus game cartridges allowed generally bigger, higher quality games.
Then Gamecube was about as strong as the PS2, with the PS2 having slightly lower specs.
Xbox was the strongest of that generation.
But the cheap, weaker system with more games still won in end.
Similar to how the Wii and DS have a lot more sales than the competition.

But yeah, it's pretty cool how strong the iPhone is. It is really expensive though, and I'm sure the PSP2 is going to be a $599USD clump of crazy specs.

Where's the Saturn in that list?

This thread is beyond pointless. There won't be Professor Layton, Metal Gear, Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Zelda, or Metroid for the iPhone, so it already won't meet my needs as a gamer. The Citidel demo looks cool, but there's no action, and using the touch screen to simulate two analog controls is laughable at best. There's no denying the power of the iPhone, but the interface doesn't appeal to the gamer in me.

Replacing tactile, or physical, controls with a touch screen will never help gaming. It's like replacing the steering wheel in your car with a touch screen, it just doesn't feel right. They should make an app for the iPhone that helps Apple fanboys from creating stupid topics. Nobody lays a finger on my Butterfinger!

I don't expect it to be more powerful than an iPhone. iPhones are cutting edge techonology, after a few months it's already outdated and they release a new one every year.

Plus, they cost twice as much. It's foolish to think a product half the price should be just as strong.

I got an iPhone 3 days ago and I love it more than a first born child but I never bought it as a gaming device, I don't know anyone that would.. Playing nice games is only an added benifit. As far as games go, the 3DS will always be the most popular choice.

That epic game looked boring as hell.

You mad bich? 3DS SUCKS.

Gosh at least my impersonator trolls had more clever tastes than this. Quick shout out to whoever Guild McCapitalist was, that was a pretty good name, I'm not gonna lie.

There's a "t" in "bitch". GET IT RIGHT.

And yeah, this thread is highly useless.

Who cares! it will still be powerful to be a decent internet browser and
Is the iphone in 3D? NO!

Iphone = not gaming device(ok not dedicated gaming device)

3DS = Going to be awesome without this engine

PSP2/PS2P = not even out yet give it a chance :/

Might get both PSP2 and 3DS someday.

Sony isn't that stupid

$500/600 portable >.>

I don't see why this is that much of a surprise to anyone. The 3DS is a dedicated gaming device, all its power goes towards gaming. The iPhone is a phone, it uses lots of power on non-gaming features, phone, SMS, staying on a wireless network, etc. Not all of the iPhone is used towards gaming, which would explain why it requires more power. And look at the price difference, the 3DS would be maximum $300 in Canada and/or United States (likely $270, and $250 respectively), whereas the iPhone 4 is priced at $600 without a contract up here in Canada.
