Hardware 3DS gunna be region locked? safe to buy elsewhere?

hey guys,

I followed a bunch of sites last night for the press release and i was bummed to hear that Australia didnt even get a mention

We have PAL for a region code, the same as Europe, so i would be safe ordering one from europe? I'd get a nice discount too cause of our dollar

I hate being last to get everything its kinda annoying, and they always jack the price up too

but my USB loader wii makes me feel a little better about being left out

I think austrailan region lock is the same as europe, there both PAL. Google it just incase :-)

i went ino eb and harvey norman and dicksmiths, and they all has a sneaking suspicion that it will be aus region locked so its not too much or a dumb question

The Australia has a separate region for the DSi so I think it will be region locked.

It's probably locked by ratings bodies.
Join the EU.

Looks like Europe and Australia have the same region coding.
