The "R4i Gold Deluxe" can run 3DS roms on 4.x only.

I just got the gateway 3ds for my 3ds xl 4.5 and it works nicely.
I'm thinking to buy another 3ds xl, but i can't find one of that version. Most hard thing is that most 3ds with old version has guarantee expired... if i buy an used 3ds of that version.

Could you help me where i can find one?

Well, you can find them based on the serial on the box, but why do you need another?

Well if you grab them from ebay guarantee is expired for sure, but I am sure you can hit some local deal, by following specific serials required for 4.1-4.5 3ds xl ( and you ll get guarantee). But I am not sure what would you do with guarantee as they would probably update your FW on repair ( just speculating).

Lol. I see you're in Europe, so go to some stores and see if you can find some 3DS's with any of these Serial Number's written on the box.

Thanks bro i solved the problem.
I found a brand NEW 3ds xl on ebay for 150€ shipping and charger included. The store owner assured me that the version of 3ds xl is of 2012, he gave me this pic.

What color is it? Some XL's come with over 4.5, even though they have 2012 written on the box...

It's the black/red (it should be a color made since the day one).
I ask the serial number now to the seller.

There's a possibility the system could still come with over 4.5. Ask the retailer if he can snap a pic of the serial number for you.

Well, you have a higher chance of getting a 3DS that's on 4.5 or under with what you've ordered. Don't get scared, you should be fine.

I'm maturing serious doubts instead, the seller do not want to tell me infos..
I don't think he shipped it already, because i payed this morning.

He has a black/silver of 2012 too. That version is certainly of 4.x as i see in the excel file. I had to pick that.. but my mother has black/silver already that's why i chose the red.
I'm waiting some more info about the seller.

nope 1.0-2.0b2 work with an non updated FPGA, 2.1-2.3 only work with a updated FPGA, once you update the FPGA you cant use 1.0-2.0b2 any more

No. It's nothing to do with the Gateway team. There is no known exploit for newer firmwares, so nothing can be released by Gateway.

I suggest you to search on subito.it, I bought mine from there almost new with 120€ with pokemon white 2 and a non-original charger included.
