If I have to reflash my NAND from the version I saved when I first installed Gateway v. 1.2, will I have to re-run the Gateway exploit like it's never been done or will the exploit already be in there since I saved it after installing Gateway?

Hello. I just want to ask whether it is actually possible to play online with the Gateway 2.3b version, since the update states that the flash supports online play since the 2.1 version, yet all I get is an error (002-0123) whenever I try?

Would appreciate any information or guidelines regarding online play, provided it is possible

You need to dump your games using Gateways rom dumping feature, then change the the extension from .3ds, to .3dz or if you want to play online using scene releases, then you need to attach a valid header to the rom and then change it to .3dz.

Thanks and sorry, I'm rather noob with all of this so I'll just ask, what's a scene release?

And there is also another thing. One of my friends tried going online on Pokemon Y ROM a few weeks ago, and he said that it simply worked for him without doing anything more than clicking "yes" upon being asked whether he wants to connect to the internet. He was able to trade between his real game and his ROM copy. However, now it doesn't work for him either. Any idea how come it simply worked before without dumping anything or doing anything at all, and now it doesn't ?

local trading works without a header.....online doesnt

does gateway work on 3ds work on firmware 7.0 and like all the functions work? pleaaseeee reply :)

No. You need an older 3ds with firmware between 4.1 >>> 4.5 to run gateway.

If you have an older 3ds on one of those firmwares, you can fun gateway and have it spoof newer firmwares (so you can play newer games).

Depends on what you're specifically asking.

If you are asking if you had a 3DS where the normal firmware is 7.0. No, you cannot use ANY Gateway 3DS functions.

If you are asking if the emuNAND (The Gateway's spoofed second firmware) can handle 7.0, the answer is yes. It can handle all functions and games on 7.X firmwares and can even handle the most recent 8.X firmware, allowing for eshop.

Replying to myself - no, you do not have to re-do the original GW exploit. Just reflash your NAND and insert the red card and all's well.

For some reason I can't get Sonic Lost World to work on 4.0B2. The dumps is fine(I launched it once with r4i 2.0 and it worked) and it's not trimmed.

Every time I launch it I get the black screen with "Press the power button".

Is there a way to properly backup an X/Y ROM and save with a Gateway? I dumped my ROM (error when I tried doing my sav, assumed because its cart2 or whatever) and when trying to play it, it just says "The save is corrupted" and doesn't let me start the game or anything.

Did you dump your own retail cartridge Pokemon X/Y game cartridge and save? And then you tried to carry on your save using a rom? That's what I gathered from what you said anyway, I might be wrong, anyway they're incompatible with each other as far as im aware, maybe someone else knows more, I think you'll have to do the erase though, wait for other advice actually =)

Awe, that sucks. I still have my cartridge but I was debating selling it to GameStop since they give like $30 for it, but I'd like to keep my save then :p

I might be wrong but yeah I'm pretty sure retail carts and rom savs are incompatible unfortunately for you :\ You could always start a new game on a rom, get so far on to it .. transfer all your mon you wanna keep, sell the game then download/buy omega R/S and transfer them there :)

Yeah, I think I'll end up doing that. Thanks for helping :3

Hi people I just want to post that I'm selling my R4i Gold deluxe card on EBay if anyone is interested.

The exploit used for clones is the same as used by gateway right ? I don't need to reinstall the exploit when I get the gateway?

There is 0 compatibility problem with saves between flashcards? ( Besides some games deleting saves if you used a 1.2 one in a 2.0 or viceversa)

Is there a problem leaving the 3ds with gateway and emunand for long periods of time in sleep mode ? I practically never shutdown my 3ds and have a pretty good battery time. Just asking if there would be any problem like exiting out of emunand without warning or something like that.

As long as I see GW3D on the version i'm on emunand until I exit the settings ? so can I set the wifi connection for the first time and then update ? or I should better setup the wifi connection , turn off the console . Go to sysnand and check if the wifi conenction is there and delete it, maybe then make the folders showing SYSNAND or something like that. Then go again into emunand and update. Would that be safer? Or it's just useless precaution?

Update always through system settings , even new updates after I already have my emunand setupped right?

Once I have emunand set up to last firmware and etc , I can just use the console freely with wifi on and use spotpass and etc without any problem like if it were a regular updated console right? There's no way emunand is removed until I Exit gateway mode which can only be done by entering settings or closing the console ? Of course , would have to take care and stay notified of new updates just in case they break my emunand XD

no problems, but just make sure you exit your game before doing so as it can crash sometimes if left for extended periods of time(only happened a few times) and if you hadn't exited your game before hand this can cause a loss of save progress......so just to be safe exit your game if you plan to stop playing for a while

Yeah if it says GW3D your in emunand, just make sure you dont exit system settings and you will be fine to update

Yes, but wait for confirmation they are compatible before running updates

Yeah emunand works like normal, just note a few games cause the 3DS to reset on closing them like smash bros, but this can be avoided by opening a different game/program from the homescreen
