Hacking 3049 Professor layton 3 (J) fix

It's just a .scc cheat code fix, apply it just like a cheat.

This was pulled from the sc china forums, so it might be in chinese but I guess it's just a one code hack, so just turn it on.

scds1.. name it the same as the rom and put it in the same folder, and enable cheats...

example.. game.nds game.scc


slot-2

repatch a clean rom in the patcher software, double click the rom in the list to bring up options and choose 'enable cheats' then direct the browse box for it to the scc file, patch and you'll get 3 files the nds.dsq, nds.sav and nds.scc, put them all in the same folder on the mem card

on my slot-1 card, it's root/games/layton/3049.nds and root/games/layton/3049.scc
Does the name of the file matter?
(in the pop-up menu, I chose enable patch, patch saver, enable cheat, patch speed)

*Also, do I need to somehow add it to ndsinfo.dat?

Should work, are you hitting the save icon in the patch settings ? Is hide known extensions off in windows so you don't get files called game.nds.nds

Yes, I'm choosing the 'save' icon in the patch menu. And yes, I have the option to hide known file extensions turned off (though it doesn't matter, windows doesn't know what .nds is) I copied the 'flashcart fix' as is to a .txt and converted with ar2cht and cht2scc from supercard.cn to no avail.

Ok, from reading the translation of the chinese sc forum, I think it might be saying that you have to enable RTS too, it may be that an RTS save call has to be used in the game once then you can use the open cheat menu combo to set the crack on, or you might just have to enable the option and thats all. Also you must use a clean unpatched rom

I'm very unsure as the translation is not clear at all....

Have to say, that translation is awesome. Did you use google translation for it?
I'm at work right now so I don't have access to my files, but I'll try it with the .scc that I copied last night.

and doesn't work... but I'll try again at home with your original .scc ..
Any idea about the file size?

Tried it all all out... bleh, it doesn't work. I suppose I'll have to wait for a supercard update.

Don't know whats up your end (haha) mate, just tried it and works with out any probs what so ever on my scds1-sdhc version with latest os3sp4+20th nov update. Just standard settings plus enable cheats of course, run game, cheat screen shoots straight up, switch to 'on' press 'b' to exit and play the game... I named the files pl3.xxx if that makes a difference.

It's running right now..shrugs.


edit.. and oh yeh, Thanks to all those 60 people who downloaded the file and thanked me in this thread.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not frustrated at you, which sorry I forgot to say, but Thanks for the Scc and help. I'm just frustrated at my supercard. Do you think it makes a difference that I have a SCDS1 version 1? I updated it to the latest os though... maybe I just need to reformat and start from scratch.

even bigger bleh! ... re-formatted (forgot to change language back to english) and it worked like a dream... I have no clue what was causing it to misbehave before... gods I hate ridiculously simple solutions...

Just a question, does the game work flawlessly for you? I can get past the first cinema (by skipping) and the dialog, but once I get to the 'Choose your chapter' type page, it crashes when I choose the '未来の手紙' the first chapter and push 'Ok'
