My Pokémon white 2 ds cart won’t work. Whenever I open it through the ds I get an error stating that the system couldn’t access my save data and tells me to turn off the console and try again. Do I just need to clean this cart or is there something else I should do?

DS cartridges don't have SRAM batteries.

I have a Pokemon Platinum cartridge that does the same thing. I've tried wiping down the entire board with alcohol but it still doesn't work. Unless there's a way to reset the save using an R4 save dongle I don't think anything can be done about it.

Perhaps the internal parts of the cartridge were somehow damaged.
If you know how to solder then maybe you should check out some tutorials online on how to fix cartridge circuits.

I fixed the issue! I just used twlsave tool to erase the save on the cart and then the game booted up normally! I didn’t mind losing the save ‘cause I was planning on starting a new game anyway.

(Edit) Oops, I had the wrong cart in and it wasn’t white 2, should’ve double checked before I said it was fixed. Anyway when I boot twlsave tool with white 2 in, it shows me the normal screen, but it can’t access the save either and is stuck on 0% when I try to complete any operation.
