it looks like it worked through zso, which I had never heard of, but my friend @Acid_Snake told me about:

game works no problem. the game is actually 2 discs rolled into one at 3GBs or so, so it's quite large for a psp game. I need to save this python script stuff. :D

thanks. I didn't even know there was a limit with say psp iso compressor till @Acid_Snake told me on discord yesterday. all is well. game works, just wish I could get it sorted correctly while it's in a folder. I tried psp filer, changing the modified date to between the two games it would go between, and it ended up putting the game at the bottom of the list for inexplicable reasons.

zso is a compressed iso file. its little bit larger than cso but it works way better. with cso you can experience stuttering while loading. with zso everything works nice and smooth. i would use zso instead of cso, but pprefs plugin (the only one soltion for sorting content) does not support zso files :( thats why i stick to the cso's.

If you will allow me to talk about my own experience, I will say that in my PSP3004 I have only game isos (32gb of mostly jrpg games) in .cso format, and I have never had any problem regarding loading or anything else. 😉
I found out that I had made a mistake. I was compressing a zso as a cso, well based on name. game worked, but it would cause pprefs to crash the system. someone told me that zso is incompatible with pprefs. I think the fact that it was zso is the reason the game was at the bottom of my alphabetic list despite the modified time. after I fixed it by making it to a cso, pprefs no longer crashed, and I was able to alphabetize the game. thus, everything is fixed.
