thanks for that greatIt's definitely possible to use an overclocked forwarder of Wii64 to play Goldeneye using the WiiU gamepad and it runs really well. Im on my phone right now so I don't have access to the forwarder channel at this moment but next time im on my pc I'll upload it for you here. I just can't provide the ROM itself just the forwarder channel for the emulator as its copywritten of course.

Wii64 Forwarder Channel created by an unknown person, I found it months ago online somewhere (install using WUP Installer gx2):

As for the Goldeneye rom I can't help you with that like I said. Dump your own cart
actually gondeneye runs better in wii64 rice version rather than regular wii64 imo you can see the skybox and everything and overall runs better so you should say to use rice version lol.Bump:

Tutorial for Running Goldeneye (N64) on WiiU using Wii64 and the overclock method with WiiU Gamepad Support
Setup:
You will need WUP Installer GX2 as well to install the forwarder channel but based on our previous conversations, you already have that.
1.Download the following files:

2. Extract Wii64 to the root of your sd card
3. Place your Goldeneye ROM file (I cannot provide this as its copywritten material, you should be dumping your own Goldeneye cartridge to get this ) on your sd card under wii64->roms
4. Extract the Wii64 Forwarder channel to your sd card under the install folder
5. Extract Sign_C2W_Patcher to wiiu->apps on your sd card
6. Fire up your WiiU and enter the Homebrew Launcher using whatever method you use.
6. Launch WUP Installer GX2 and install the Wii64 Forwarder channel to NAND
Setup is done!
Usage:
First step is very important or your WiiU will crash and you will need to pull the plug out of the back to force it off!!!!
THIS MUST BE DONE EACH TIME YOU WANT TO PLAY GOLDENEYE!
1. Open the Homebrew Launcher and find Sign_C2W_Patcher. Launch it, your console will reboot back into the system menu after doing some patches in the background (you won't see anything happen other than the reboot.)
2. Find the Wii64 Forwarder Channel (for whatever reason whoever made it labeled it Not64 which is a different N64 emulator lol). Open up that channel and it will prompt you if you want to use the WiiU gamepad. This is entirely up to you, I prefer to use it myself .
3. Once Wii64 loads go to load ROM and find your Goldeneye ROM from earlier. Select it and enjoy! .
I think what I uploaded actually was the Rice version if I'm not mistaken. It runs pretty well for me tbh. Ive yet to run into any issues with it.actually gondeneye runs better in wii64 rice version rather than regular wii64 imo you can see the skybox and everything and overall runs better so you should say to use rice version lol.
rice you can see the sky in the first mission and other missions, on regular wii64 you cant see the sky just look up in the first mission xDI think what I uploaded actually was the Rice version if I'm not mistaken. It runs pretty well for me tbh. Ive yet to run into any issues with it.
I'll have to try that lol. If that is in fact the case then I uploaded the wrong version and I'll reupload the a rice onerice you can see the sky in the first mission and other missions, on regular wii64 you cant see the sky just look up in the first mission xD

Update: while its not a 100% complete save file, here's a list of official cheats for Goldeneye that will get you a lot of stuff: https://www.ign.com/wikis/goldeneye/N64_Cheats#InvincibilitySweet i launched and played golden eye earlier for the first time in prob over 15 years lol
How do i go about getting a 100% saved version?
I found roms online that said they r 100% complete but then they never even worked
Then i found some saved data and put that in the saved folder in wii64
But that also did not work
nope wii64 doesnt support cheats or gameshark so that is useless lolUpdate: while its not a 100% complete save file, here's a list of official cheats for Goldeneye that will get you a lot of stuff: https://www.ign.com/wikis/goldeneye/N64_Cheats#Invincibility
These should work just fine in the emulator but the tricky part is its listed with the original N64 controller in mind. In order to use these, youre gonna have to figure out exactly what N64 button corresponds to what button on whatever controller youre using. Not gonna be fun. Once whatever cheats you want are entered you can then make a save state with Wii64 so you don't need to reenter them ever again, just load your save state.
Im honestly not sure outside of playing through it. That being said, any cheats that were built into the game itself should work just fine on Wii64.
I honestly have no idea if Wii64 supports gameshark or action replay codes as ive never looked into it.
there is a program that turned pj64 saves into wii64 saves but i dont know where it went, maybe google it, wii64 or any vc emulator is hard to put saves in because the formats are different, you cant just copy paste and hope to work.oh dear well work in progress then
if the game was installed on the wii u menu I reckon it would have been easy
I got a saved game version working for zelda ocarina of time
I actually played that game and completed it back in the days.
game saves automatically lol you cant save manualy it will save on its own since any game with internal cartridge memory saves on its own, only games that recquired the memory card is the ones you must manualy save.so ~I sat down last night and played goldeneye.... so much fun
completed 3/4 levels and then I was trying to find a way to SAVE the game but I couldnt work it out
once I got back to not64 (I dont know which buttons I pressed to do that) but the saved game was gone
maybe im better off with retroarch or does somone know how i can save with not64?
game saves automatically lol you cant save manualy it will save on its own since any game with internal cartridge memory saves on its own, only games that recquired the memory card is the ones you must manualy save.
its just that not64 and wii64 do not share the same saves.
wii64 saves go into sd:wii64/saves
not64 saves go into
Sd:not64/saves
and like i said the best version is wii64 rice for goldeneye since the skybox works while it doesnt on not64 and not64 has no wiiu gamepad support incase you want to use that.
