No ban unless you cheat online.
Great, off to own some noobs on Mario kart 7 then.

Also, I'll be getting a 2nd hand 3DS XL soon.
Should I hack it first or should I update it to the latest firmware first and then start the hacking procedure?

And when I hack it, I cna still play my original 3DS games? 99% sure this is the case since this Luma CFW adds to the original firmware, doesn't remove anything

Depend on the firmware, if it is 11.3.0 and below you can use soundhax, if it above 11.3.0 use seedminer.
https://3ds.hacks.guide/get-started, you can check it out here.

you can play your 3DS games fine.

Ok I've gotten quite far in the 3DS hacks guide , excellent site btw, but I'm failing on the Godmode 9 scripts part. This is the error I'm getting on this step;

Scripts directory not found.
Scripts directory not found.
default path: 0:/gm9/scripts
A to continue

There are no scripts included in the download zip so I'm kind of stuck

I remember when scripts weren't included. it may have been a9lh, but I had to search for a script to dump and restore the nand. I do remember that. ;)

Hi there! I’m getting a crash on boot with Pokémon AlphaSapphire (US cartridge on JP system with latest Luma) – I know it isn’t an SD problem because it’s on cartridge. I tried switching the locale, installing the game update, and fixing CMACs with Godmode9; I would try importing the seed if there was such an option on FBI, as it doesn’t seem to appear on the cartridge game. Do I have a bad cart?

Hello! I've recently got a second-hand 3DS (with CFW) that came with a DSTWO flashcart. However, as the 3DS isn't refurbished and its battery life, although not terrible, isn't exactly good either, I would like to use my old DSTTi Gold (a DSTT clone) with it.
I hadn't used this flashcard since 2014 I think, so I got a new 8GB good quality microSD card and basically copied everything I had backed up on my HD from the old card to this one, menu, games, saves and all. The thing is, the flashcard menu loads just fine but when I try to open any game the menu freezes before loading. Could someone help me to find out what's wrong?

I've succesfully completed the finalizing setup , just wondering if I need to do this;

Or is the NAND backup I've already got & backed up enough? Can I skip this ARM11 bootrom ?

Thanks so much as awlays

AS doesn't require a seed to run, and IIRC the title id for the game in either U, EU or JP is the same, and saves are cross compatible, i personally did it from a US to a EU version. Also why not install a cia of the game (from online) for now to play the game, and later if you want to troubleshoot your cart do so on your own leisure.

Why not run games from the 3DS's SD card without the need of a flashcard? You have CFW, and there's no reason IMO to not do it. Also an 8Gb SD card is barely enough to store a few games, nowaday SD cards are cheap and you can get a 64Gb for around 12$ or so, honestly it could be either of them causing the issue. You can try checking the SD card with h2test if it's a fake..

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The title id's are never the same iirc. The 3ds has region lock. Except you have luma ;)
As i said, i already tried it with AS and my save worked from the US ver to the EU, and the game ran without fiddling with any Luma Locale switching...

It is a clone and I've been aware of that for years... I didn't even put new firmware on it, only backed up from the old one.
I don't run games from the 3DS card because the 3ds games take way too much storage anyway and good quality 32GB+ cards aren't exactly cheap around here, so I'm trying to work around what I already got.
I want to understand what's happening with the flashcard and find solutions for it, if I wanted to run games installed on the 3DS I could simply follow the Twilight Menu guide and not be bothered to look around for answers on this specific issue.

Twilight Menu++ runs DS games not 3DS, also you can put your SD card directly to the 3DS without the need of a flashcard to boot either 3DS /and or DS games so...

I'm well aware of that... But I don't have enough storage on the 3DS card to have both 3DS and DS games. There's already plenty of installed games that don't make it possible to me to install the DS games I want to play, and I don't want to uninstall the 3DS ones either. This is not being helpful at all, I thought a noob thread would be better than starting a new topic at the flashcard section but I guess I was wrong.

OK, relax for a second. Now games are stored on the SD card and WILL take storage space if you either put it in the flashcard or in the 3DS, what i am saying is basically to play your games directly from the 3DS without the need of a flashcard (since you've mentioned it's fake) and avoid all the hassle, if you try make flashcard work. But in all honestly it's your choice, i'am not making you do anything.

hello before I give advice I want to know you are doing it correctly so first are you sure it's a dstt clone and not a r4 or aki clone with a dstt lable? Second have you tried the app designed for properly loading dstt on 3ds https://gbatemp.net/threads/r4-stage2-twl-flashcart-launcher-and-perhaps-other-cards-soon.416434/

But I think the problem from what you describe points to your sd card being corrupt or fake (as in it has been made to report a larger size than it's capacity) so back up your sd card and run this https://3ds.hacks.guide/h2testw-(windows).html to test for errors let me know the results and we will go from there
