PlayStation's next-gen VR headset will allegedly have 4K resolution, eye tracking & wired connection

In March, we got a peek at what the PlayStation's next-gen VR controllers will look like, but details of the VR headset itself has been scant. But those details might have been revealed in an exclusive report from UploadVR. The information from the report however need to be taken with a pinch of salt as the reporter cites only "multiple" and "reliable" sources that corroborate those details. Now that you have your salt shakers ready, let's see what those alleged specs of the next-gen PS VR headset are.

UploadVR's sources mention a resolution of 4000×2040 pixels (2000×2040 per eye), a lens separation adjustment dial and gaze tracking capable of foveated rendering. The latter refers to the headset's ability to output better resolution at the area you are directly looking at while reducing the resolution of the area in your peripheral vision, all this thanks to a built-in eye tracker. The headset will also feature a built-in motor for "developers to give direct haptic feedback".

According to the report, the next-gen headset will feature outward-facing cameras to track the controllers' position, somewhat akin to the system used in Oculus Quest headsets. As for pairing the device to the console, this will be possible through a USB-C connection, making it a wired VR headset.

What do you think of this news? Would you consider to get a next-gen PS VR headset with those specs?

Because Quest is basically a Android smartphone on your face, every processing power is on itself. It is good because it is more straightforward, doesnt need another expensive device for it to work, you just buy the content for your headset and can use it directly... but it is severely limited on power. You can use the Quest on PC, but you still have to use wires.
No, you don't. Virtual Desktop works great for wireless PCVR gaming, and Oculus is rolling out Air Link for wireless PCVR gaming. The former has been around for a long time.

I will get a VR set in 10 years when it come down to 100$.
I have to run VR on a 1050ti because I wasn't expecting the huge graphics card shortage. To put that into perspective I get a max of 50 fps in Beat Saber, which is WAY under the comfort requirement. What's even worse is I spent a grand on my setup when I bought it. If you're looking for cheap VR, you're going to wait a while.

Is 10 years not long enough?

Some specs that actually interest me there, though I imagine reality will be worse.

Also assume they will be all locked to Sony's whims and I won't be able to use them as my own personal screen and eye tracker to be even lazier than right now with a remote control and a large screen I can see from bed, at least pending a hack.
