Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

I've updated to the latest version for my New 3DS XL but this is the first time I've tried playing the NDS versions of Etrian Odyssey.

I've noticed they start to flicker at the Intro and continue to do so at any screen where I'm required to input with the Stylus.
I did catch your reply for the NTR Loader from the Search Engine, but since I'm not using that Application, I'm hoping there is a workaround for TwiLight Menu++.

Thank you beforehand.

Revert the CPU speed back to NTR for that game, if you switched to TWL.

Thank you; I tried your suggestion by itself but unfortunately it did not work for me.
Then I figured I might as well set everything that seems to be speeding up TWiLight Menu++ back to what I perceive are its Default Settings; these included NTR for CPU Speed, 30 FPS, DS Mode and 32.73 kHz Audio.

After that, Etrian Odyssey worked fine so, by method of elimination, I managed to figure out that I needed both the NTR CPU Speed and DS Mode active to achieve this.

My next question would be, am I missing out a great deal by having TWiLight Menu++ set as NTR and DS Mode.
I prefer to have one setting, especially since my most common NDS Titles I access through your NDS Forwarder, so if there's not much of a difference, I'd like to keep these settings for all the games.

You are missing nothing with default settings.

That is good to hear, so I'll keep things as-is.
To recap for the next person searching, I carried on from your advice to:
  1. Set the CPU Speed to NTR
  2. Set the TWiLight Menu++ to DS Mode

Coincidentally, these are the games I play that benefit from this configuration:
  • Etrian Odyssey - no more Screen Flickering and Stylus Input problems
  • Infinite Space - the Upper Screen has moved back up to the top, so the Lower Screen can now be seen

Thank you again.

Thank you for the app, it's AWESOME. Use it every day.

I was trying to start using some of the built in emulators, but it seems to completely hang when I try to load the respective rom folder. N2DSXL/Fresh Luma. There are a LOT of roms in there and its a 128gb SD so I expect it to load slow, but the progress bar never shows up (DSi Theme, others also failed to load), even after I let it load all night. I tried downgrading to 18.21, disabled the art colour debanding, hid the artwork. Do I just need to trim down the rom #s or is there anything else I could try?

Yes, delete some ROMs, or move some of them to a new folder.

Here's a quick question I've been struggling with. I'd like to keep 2 separate roms in my roms\nds folder: Pokemon Platinum, and the romhack "Renegade Platinum." If I put both roms in that folder, they both appear identically as "Pokemon Platinum" in TwilightMenu. So I renamed Rengade Platinum using a DS header editor. Now they have different titles in TwilightMenu, exactly as I wanted. But for whatever reason, vanilla Platinum runs fine while the romhack version hangs on a white screen and never loads. Is there a way to fix this?

edit: And for what its worth, the romhack works perfectly fine as long as it isn't renamed; I've put hours into it already, but only if its header is unedited.

You can just press Y to see the ROM's filename instead.

I suppose that works but is there a cleaner way to get around this? This 3DS will be a gift and I'd like to make it as simple as possible for the recipient. It'll wind up more cluttered once I do the same for all the other Pokemon romhacks I'm adding.

What did you use to change the header?
