CD Projekt Red recently delayed Cyberpunk 2077 (again) but it's not short on trailers. Today, the company released a new one titled "The Gig". It showcases the world, characters, story, and action of the upcoming title. Additionally, we get a new look into the beginnings of the mercenary career of V, the game's protagonist.

Cyberpunk 2077
releases this November 19th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with the version for Google Stadia set to launch later this year. It's also coming to next-gen consoles which will receive a free update that will "take full advantage of next-gen hardware".

Watch this game turn into a massive super hyped failure.
I just got this gut feeling that tells me so... and a lot of hyped games that ended up crap as example, eh.

lets say the series x is as powerful as a 2080 super, it will be stuck with that until whenever microsoft decides its time for a revision like the one x was to the base model one, at the time of the base one release, nvidia's latest gpu series was the gtx 7xx series, during the lifespan of the xbox one we had the gtx 9xx, gtx 10xx, and gtx 16xx/rtx 20xx, thats 3 generations of nvidia graphics cards, if history repats itself, there will be 3 generations of nvidia graphics cards during series x's lifespan, which anyone with a pc will be able to upgrade to, this isnt even taking into account future developments by intel, amd, things like mainstream ddr5 ram, etc
I think the main point is that the 2080 super is a high end card and the consoles have always had the equivalent of lower end graphics. I'm still skeptical myself, especially since they will have AMD chipsets not Nvidia and there aren't even any higher end AMD graphics cards for PC yet. Still, it would probably be a very good thing for gaming in general if it turned out to be true.

I think only ps4 and xbox one came out with lower tier hardware, there was still a recession mind set at the time.
If you go back one generation, xbox 360 and ps3 would shame, at release, all but the high end of pcs at the time.
Keep going back and consoles always felt powerful at release.

And "at release" is an extremely important factor of this discussion.
It doesn't seem fair comparing future console hardware with pc hardware from last year.

When consoles are announced they always seem better than what they will be at release, if we want to compare apples to apples, we have to wait for next nvidia and amd gpus witch will be out before next gen consoles.

Comparing tflops as a way to measure graphics performance between 2 different architectures is nonsense, and between different vendors is crazy talk.
Games don't run only on floating point operations.
