I'm sorry, but are the apps included here premium or just portable free versions?
Also, how would I go about removing/adding software to reduce the size of this?
Thank you

As far as I have tested "which is a lot" all the apps are either freeware (Completely free) or as you call premium which are full featured apps. No shareware or limited software in this awesome distribution.

One more thing, does ventoy need some extra configuration files for the images you've put on the exfat partition? I can see on their github that all ventoy needs the iso/wim files to be is just ventoy compatible. And if that's the case, wouldn't it be better for you to host the images as is instead of making a partition image? When all people have to do is just copy/paste the files into the ntfs folder in whatever order/folder hierarchy they want? Please think about it if it's possible. That way you also don't have to go the extra mile of creating a full disk like before and the users can have the choice on what they want. Win-Win situation for everyone.
@Jayro Hey, did you take a look at this post perhaps?

Click on all the files (archive files for medicat) and then make a copy of them. The copies will be made into your personal drive. Download from the new copies from your personal drive. Once downloaded delete the copies to get your storage back. Or else, use the torrent file present inside the torrents folder on GDrive. Or use the mega mirror.

I'm basically using 7-zip as a file splitter, because it's easy.
Even though it prevents some people to keep seeding or even use MediCat, because we haven't enough storage to store both the multipart files AND the uncompressed file? Even though it brings only downsides to the end user? :-/

I do have to agree that having the file compressed like this prevents seeding I managed to seed twice the time I downloaded then had to stop seeding to extract and use it. So yeh if it is in BIN format we can seed and use at the same time.

You got a better file splitter that end users can easily put the files back together? Many torrents are distributed this way, I can't tell you how many times I've had to extract my downloaded torrents from about 50x 100MB .rar files in the past.

Can you explain to us what would be the benefit of splitting the bin file when sharing via BitTorrent?
1. For the uploader
2. For the end user

2. For the end user
1.) Nothing in it for me, the uploader.
2.) In the event the download gets corrupted (I've had corrupted .rar chunks before) they can just redownload that one chunk, instead of the entire thing.

Some people have bad equipment, like old routers, bad Ethernet cables, and Wi-Fi interference. All of these can lead to file corruption down the line. To think torrents are 100% safe from file corruption is just foolishly ignorant. Back at my old place I lived, I couldn't understand why my uploads would always get corrupted to Google drive. Turned out that it was a bad Coax cable going from my wall to the modem causing the corruption. It happens. I'm not inexperienced in these things.

I believe you, but I'm quite experienced with BitTorrent and networking too, and I've haven't seen split torrents in a long time (as I said it's even forbidden in most communities), and never heard of corrupted downloads either. In my opinion it's very rare.

Furthermore, I would assume that people with bad network equipment are the ones most likely to lack storage space. As I said, 50 or 70GB is a lot of free space to ask nowadays with SSDs.

I hope that you'll change your mind, anyway thank you for MediCat!

The newest torrent I just made this morning is only 22.8GB, and 22.8GB when extracted it's using the plain tried-and-true .img format. I'll consider doing the raw .img file for the torrent in the next release though.

Hello, we are all at 99% in torrent, for files part2,3,5,6 we don't have 100% seeds, can you seed please ?
I'm seeding 100% of MediCat 20.06.1 (and I've already a ratio of 5.4 in 15 hours). You should check your BitTorrent client, force recheck, force resume.

I'm in the same boat with the 99.99% files. Just rechecked the files and all, queried the trackers again and everything but to no avail.

I won't be able to check on it for about 12 hours, so just sit tight guys. I might have moved a file by mistake instead of copying it. I'll fix it as soon as I get home.

I've recently tested the new MediCat 2020.06.01 and Windows 10 Mini OS still doesn't want go past the Windows logo with the rotating dots on my PC. Anyone else has a Ryzen 3000 PC with a X570 motherboard that has the same issue as mine?

Same here, got 99.9% of files downloaded. I'm trying to download the files from gDrive or Mega then replace the torrent one witht the gDrive/Mega ones to seed at 100% hope it will work.

Also misstake with folder name : IJNSTUCTIONS with extra J

By the way, I've just discovered this tool and I've buy a USB drive especially just for this. Also created an account for sharing my experience with this amazing tool. Thank for your work Jayro.

Edit : Well at least I was able to share two of them, only the 3rd part is stuck at 99.9%

Perhaps you'll reconsider the way of distribution. I think everyone is taking it in a wrong way and this was sort of an experimentation even for you, trying something new out. The ventoy project is quite flexible. If your image files only need to be made compatible and (along with any additional small changes need to be made to ventoy config) perhaps you should consider just distributing the image files instead. In which case you can release the config files or the instructions to create that config file which would dissolve all the displease for a lot of users with this current medicat.

I know and I think a lot of the users know how hard can it be to compile such a huge project, the amount of testing needed. It was a good attempt at something big, but alas, I don't see a good future for full distro releases as is. I'm sure you've noticed it too.

(P.S. on that note, if you decide to distribute individual images as part of medicat dvd, as add-ons, perhaps you'd also return the winpe in its previous state as an ISO file. If you do that, you might also want to consider separating the portable apps from the winpe. You don't even need to pack another file with the winpe itself. Just pack it as an ISO with start.exe and anyone who wants the portable apps can just download that extra file and extract in the usb after creating the bootable usb with winpe. It'll save a lot of bandwidth for you and us both)

Please think about it.
