If you're starting new and you want a gameplay overhaul with some challenge and prettier graphics/sound, I would just grab Rawrzilla's latest NT 1.5 fixed pack. If you already have an NT game going I would stick with one appropriate for your version, i.e Rawrzilla's for 1.5, or either my non-plus 1.4 for original graphics, or plus 1.01 for shiny ones.

Omnislash is purely a graphical overhaul and has maybe the first fourth of the game done, it has a ways to go.

Edit: don't even use pure Chaos because the versions released here haven't had their bigger textures shrunk, so they tend to crash the game after an hour or so.
Is it possible to only use the "Plus" without the NT stuff? I only want a decent upgrade in graphics, because omnislash is too much and not fitting well into the game IMO.

You never posted these like you said you would? id really enjoy having Nino Style Battle Models
Guess she never came back from that convention? Sad.

Thanks! Here's an updated NT 1.5 with fixed sources, higher poly character models (had to fix issues present in the original ChaOS mod), higher resolution world maps. Unless any more bugs are found, this is my final release: https://mega.nz/#!TkszDQ4D!1Z7drxmUxmXHpJNz37hT1e_8svaUlm1Z1uIGF_joyuo

If there's any interest in FF7 The Reunion, I'm also going to attempt to get that one working too.

I'm going to go ahead and be that guy to encourage this, for a few reasons. A) My "attempt" at "porting" The Reunion is based off an older version, and only includes Beacause, I didn't even look at any of the executable modifications DLPB made B) DLPBs scripts are a pain in the ass to read (seriously? Delphi? For this shit?) and I don't want to do it, and MOST importantly C) Someone else fucking with and releasing his shit is sure to piss DLPB off, and I'm -ALWAYS- in favor of pissing off DLPB.

@RAWRzilla22 I've been using the pack you posted april of last year, but I noticed that Sega Chief has been posing updates as recently as yesterday: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14938.msg276691#msg276691. I don't know how much has been changed, or if there have been more incompatible exe edits that would need some kind of workaround, like the with sources; hopefully anything new is all compatible, like with materia bonuses, but I won't get my hopes up.

If you do end up taking a crack at porting the new stuff, I'd love to see the process. Learning how to do this for myself would be pretty nice.

In a nutshell, extract from the lgp files, insert the changes, re-lgp the folders, put on switch. Not more complicated than that. All of the changes he's posted should not affect any graphical changes.

So on my initial attempts I got a console crash when I tried loading a save or starting a new game. I realized I didn't need to extract the lgp files to add stuff with ulgp, and when doing it that way, things stopped crashing. However, it seems that New Threat does change field models (only some parts of Aeris?). Would you happen to still have the properly sized texture files somewhere (saw you mentioned before that larger ones tend to cause crashes)? I completely understand if you don't, it's been some time, but I'd like to avoid sorting through the >1000 files in NT's char.lgp if I can.

You'll need to unfortunately, in order to know what to replace/ Fortunately, this website should help you sort through that. You only need to may heed to battle.lgp https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OnCCU0OfV4khZ5eDOyBv-TADnWmvxGnqM3BV-KRqf7g/pub?gid=4#

I figured out how to mostly update your old release without too much hassle. I grabbed ChaOS, took all the char, lgp folders it had and condensed them into one master folder, transferred everything from the master folder into the NT char folder (making sure to overwrite every conflict), then ctrl-z'd all the ChaOS files away (removing every file they had in conflict). It's obviously not as thorough as checking all the files manually (or even with a with a script) using that google doc, but it fixed most character models. Cloud and Cid turned into hilarious amalgamations of NT and ChaOS assets, but now the files I have to sort through has been reduced to about 350, which isn't too bad compared to the previous amount (and I'm betting it has to do with all the files ending with numbers).

Also, what are you saying about battle.lgp? I can't quite parse what you were trying to say there.

EDIT: here's a good picture of what's happened to Cloud.

In some cases its suggested that you delete the original character files set and replace it with the new one, to avoid problems like this

I've been following this thread for a while and was about to pull the trigger on RAWRzilla22's port of NT 1.5, but then I see that Sega Chief has updated the mod quite a bit. Have you made any progress yourself in porting over the latest fixes/changes, please justinjustin7? Thanks! ^_^

If there's any interest in FF7 The Reunion, I'm also going to attempt to get that one working too.

YES PLEASE! No, seriously, yes please! Reunion is excellent and I'd love to see that ported to the Switch :)

Hello, I'm new following this mod, witch files it the most recent? I mean the one that I need to Install to have all the benefits that have been commented before? FF7NT, NT 1.5 , or Because Switch? I'm confused, what does each one do?

Thank you very much!!

Though, this one says it's "Beacause Fixed"? Not New Threat or Reunion?
Reunion is Beacause

They're unrelated, you can disregard. New Threat is a difficulty mod. NT is just an abbreviation of New Threat. Beacause is a re-translation.

Reunion is Beacause

Beacause is one part of Reunion, the translation part, no? There are many other aspects of Reunion too (though, obviously, not expecting the 60fps battle mod :D) such as better menus, improved audio, and high res models. The "Beacause Switch" mod is from BPLD and it is based on on the Beacause mod from Reunion r04, which is several years old now. Or is this specific one more recent?

Regardless, thank you anyway! It's most appreciated, though Beacause isn't compatible with NT 1.5 (seems like they have substantial file conflicts) - so I guess I'll have to pick one or the other :D

I installed FF7 V1.5 posted a few comments before, that one has new textures and yes also I notice the difficulty but I just want the textures, graphical improvements, how can I just have that without the difficulty?
