So as the title suggests i restored luma3ds back to version 9.1 in hopes of fixing twilightmenu++ for some reason and now everything is gone. Its as if took out my microsd card. Is there any way to get my files back?
Luma3DS is just a file named boot.firm it does not touch anything on your SD cardSo as the title suggests i restored luma3ds back to version 9.1 in hopes of fixing twilightmenu++ for some reason and now everything is gone. Its as if took out my microsd card. Is there any way to get my files back?

Going back to 9.1 would not have fixed your twilightmenu ++ issues anyway as twighlight menu works perfectly on latest version of Luma. Your issue is totally unrelated. So as the title suggests i restored luma3ds back to version 9.1 in hopes of fixing twilightmenu++ for some reason and now everything is gone. If u did a nand backup and then restored it now your SOL from after the backup so there is nothing u or anyone can do about itSo then what happened when i restored my backup?
Huh?If u did a nand backup and then restored it now your SOL from after the backup so there is nothing u or anyone can do about it

Do you mean NAND restore? You should have created a NAND backup in any case right after installing the custom firmware.I didnt do a nand backup

Please backup your SD data do the hardware check before trusting this thing again. The database may have become corrupted and require rebuilding anyway.
Also important: Before doing any modification create a new NAND image.
Check if there is more than one folder inside
SD:/Nintendo 3DS/<ID0 number>/
Again: Do not reinstall .CIA files on your SD if you care for the saves!
I did mean NAND restore. I backed up my NAND when i installed cfw. All i did here was restore my backed up version of luma that was on version 9.1Do you mean NAND restore? You should have created a NAND backup in any case right after installing the custom firmware.

Like I said your fuckedI did mean NAND restore. I backed up my NAND when i installed cfw. All i did here was restore my backed up version of luma that was on version 9.1
I did this and saw that all my files were in the right place and nothing was changed but my menu screen is still blank with only system apps on it. I can still boot into luma by pressing power+start+select but i can't go into godmode9 by pressing power+startTry to backup the data from your SD and check the card afterwards if successful.
Only downgrading/replacing Luma3DS boot.firm has no bad effects. If you indeed did a complete NAND restore (which was probably not necessary and is unrelated to the Luma3DS version on the SD) to a point where your games have not been installed yet, your database is now incomplete and has to be rebuild.
- Copy all your data from the SD to a computer. Reformat the SD to FAT32, 32kb cluster size, if bigger than 32GB and using Windows with guiformat.
- Check your SD Windows, Linux, OS X.
- If you get any errors replace the SD.
- If you get no errors copy your files back on the SD.
Simply reinstalling .CIA files will overwrite saves which makes recovery most likely impossible.
Huh?
It's Start then powerI did this and saw that all my files were in the right place and nothing was changed but my menu screen is still blank with only system apps on it. I can still boot into luma by pressing power+start+select but i can't go into godmode9 by pressing power+start
Yes and for the luma menu its just select then power button. It's Start then power
If you did nothing else at all… this sounds like some strange coincidence. Switching back and forth between Luma3DS v9.1 and v10.0.1 normally makes no problem.I did mean NAND restore. Strange as well. Holding (Start) while turning on the power loads Luma chainloader menu (in case there is only GodMode9.firm it starts right away.)Doesn't seem to work either
All there is in my luma folder is config.bin and there is nothing in data management. It does say Booted from SD via B9S as the bottom when i hold select. If you did nothing else at all… this sounds like some strange coincidence. Do you have GodMode9.firm in SD:/luma/payloads ?
When turning on while holding (Select) does it say "Booted from SD via B9S" on the very bottom?
In case GodMode9 still find the titles but they neither show up on Home Menu nor in System Settings… I think this is a case for the “Rebuild database” function of the script CTRTransfer (Type D9).
- You need GodMode9 for the next test: Does it still find the installed titles on the SD? [The guide] Dumping a title. No need to actually dump the games now; only search for titles on [A:] SYSNAND SD.
- Do the titles appear in System Settings → Data Management (greyed out with an ‘X’)? In this case missing tickets can be replaced with the already mentioned Faketik.
But I have to ask @TurdPooCharger at this point to confirm or negate this.
