I'm sorry, what?
You're blaming people's inability to read what something does before they do it, on the dev?

Do most people just go about doing things to their consoles without looking up what it does?
Because to me.. That's surely an issue on the user and not on the dev.
Don't be dense.

I buy a teddy for my kids, I dont expect there to be a knife in it.
And I'd be well within my rights to complain because that's not an option anyone would expect to find there

@XorTroll stop trying to flip things around, you're the one who caused all of this because you refused to add the .NSZ format to your title installer in the first place. And even after that, @blawar offered to make a pull request so that you don't have to do it yourself. You also refused that offer.

More and more users are beginning to use .nsz for it's obvious benefits. It's basically becoming a standard.

So, instead of collaborating with another developer to make your title installer better, you decided to go the childish route and called .NSZ format a means of piracy, which is stupid, since .NSPs would be considered piracy too since they require tickets.

Don't try to play the victim here XorTroll... We all know you're the one who's being cynical trying to pretend you don't support piracy with your app... It's main focus are NSPs and tickets.

Let's take out NSP / ticket features out of Goldleaf, what would we have left? That's right, a f***ing File Explorer.
This isn't new. This is just the latest spat between XorTroll and Blawar going back around a year. I believe that Blawar's actions triggered the initial dispute, but it spiraled out into constant bickering between the two. This right here is the result of that. Honestly, it probably won't stop unless one of them gets banned for whatever reason.

By your logic that's like saying all homebrew that has any way of bricking is bad. There's plenty of things within the modding community that CAN brick you if you don't read things correctly so I don't really understand your anology.

It's more like buying a toy that you know has ways to harm your child and never reading/looking into why it's dangerous or what it can do and still giving it to your child.

Sigh...
Well, thank you for adding NSZ support to Goldleaf, I just hope XorTroll eventually considers adding it to the original project. I mean, it's already done, what is there to lose? Dignity? Pride? Come on. Are you doing this for the scene or for yourself?

You developers should try stacking less bad reputation, it leads nowhere.

It's more of a spat with everyone. Since he thinks he is the next coming of Jesus Christ. @XorTroll is doing this to help the community. Not saying he hasn't said stuff but at least his actions aren't crapping on the whole community unlike some people. It's called respect. Blawar gives none. He has tinfoil. What was the point of forking this when we already have an installer that does this already that blawar already made? Yes he is free to do so but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. He already stated that all end users are idiots and must be forced into using drm and forked software.

It's @XorTroll 's software. He can do as he pleases. Just like @blawar can make a fork for GoldLeaf and add DRM in his own title manager.

i dont believe tinfoil is open source tho. If it was, anyone can fork it and do what they want with it
Correct it is not open source. But to force drm onto people to use your homebrew is still a petty thing to do. We have already debunked the needing to use a forked cfw with the modded tinfoil that was released. We should be helping the community as a whole and not dividing it.

The community was divided when it started, its not going to change now

That doesn't mean we should continue dividing it. Things can change. This is homebrew not politics. The reason GBAtemp exists is so we can all work together. Not fracture or continue to fracture things. Things can be fixed but doing stuff like this and not respecting @XorTroll regardless if it's open source is not helping. We gain nothing.

At least goldleaf users can use nsz now, that dreaded format

Don't use it then. No one is forcing you to.
Never said I was going to use it. That's not the point. The devs here are doing this for free. We should respect what the devs wishes are. This is clearly being done to piss off people. This isn't in the spirit of helping or homebrew or the site. How many devs have left the site due to things like this? How many dead projects do we have because of things like this? This is petty and wrong and not what this community is about.
