How do I make pcsx rearmed 1.7.9 let me boot ps1 .chd files via the pcsx core? It has final burn and sega CD on the list of suggested cores but no ps1...

Uninstall previous versions using FBI, then install the latest nightly and try to boot a PSX game, it should update to the new core and then appear on the Home Menu, letting you to load chd files
Yup. Latest nightly. Just used chdman to make the conversion. Interesting enough, with the latest nightly, blood omen legacy of kain is the only game that's not crashing. Its bin/cue .

This is probably because pepsiman uses redbook audio like many other games. Most infamously Rayman. No one as far as I know have been able to get the background music/cd audio to work in these games.

I got the 10-2- nightly and it loads chd for pcsx. Lots of stack dump crashes. Another few months and this is probably going to be awesome.
I guess that the only emulator capable of playing those audios is ePSXe, since the PC and the Android versions have music playing just fine. Welp, then I will wait for support if it ever gets done.
Doesn’t it work fine with a proper cue sheet and converting the music to PBP using pops? Most good dumps of the game don’t have a proper cue sheet made for it
Just got to the pan around NYC in Parasite Eve, and it's still a rock solid 60 fps. Everything up to that point was 60fps too. I could probably increase the sound quality...

Still some games are a bit slow but playable : Tekken 2&3 (the worst both), crash team racing, crash bandicoot, Ridge Racer type 4.
Gran turismo IS perfect. But thé 2 IS completely buggy graphically.
Great optimisation speed are :
Vidéo Sync off, audio Sync off, scan Line interleave forced on (Tekken 3 Can be), frameskip 1.
All final fantasy are playable in good condition. G-force effect of ff8 are a bit slow althought. Every smoke effect are perf kill.
I forgot to mention : update to lastest luma cfw for best compatibility + original psx bios + chd format (very few crash exception then). Chd converter IS downloadable from Mame archive.

using latest nightly in some areas like the cafe in silent hill I only get 25 fps should I get more I have a new 3ds xl is there something else I should do my games are in pbp format ?

Managed to fix performance issues what works best for me is using .pbp format and disabling vsync and bilinear filterering also set runahead to 6.
