You don't need hiya cfw anymore, the guides are outdated, just have unlaunch launch twilight menu. The ds will boot 30 seconds faster also

(The normal dsi menu works without an SD card inserted, right?)

You can add more files, so that there's 2GB or less left.

Yes, but sound won't play there on SysNAND, because of Unlaunch disabling it.

thank you so much Robz8, but I still do not understand how to get the TWiLight short cut on the home screen like in the guide. when you say add more flies till there's 2GB or less left. what do you mean by this; roms, apps, homebrew or some super special flies. I so sorry I am just such NOOB a this. thank you.

Hey everyone!
I heard about soft-modding the DSi from a youtube video from the Modern Vintage Gamer, and since my DSi has been collecting dust for the past few years, I thought I would give it a shot.

I followed the guide from dsi.cfw.guide and downloaded a rom for A Link to the Past, however I cannot save my game using the in-game save feature or save states. I read that you have to manually hit the "save SRAM" button after you save, but this doesn't work either. However, I can save my progress on GBA games, namely Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice,
Thanks.

well if you are using gbarunner2. it is still work in progress, so everything might not work yet.

Kinda not a very noob question but how do you make stuff for homebrew?

Do you know how to program at all?

or is ds your gateway to it?

Does anyone know how to edit a .nds flie to be installable via TMFH? I know that you have to make the file have a DSi header for it to recognize it as DSi software but I don't really know how to attach that data to it.

Been sitting in HxD for hours and couldn't find a solution :(

Is there a tutorial for NDS assembly programming? I found gbatek which seems like a great resource but I would also like to read a tutorial about it. However despite searching for it every NDS programming tutorial that I found was a C tutorial.

Another question: Are there open source homebrew projects for the DS made in assembly? I think that seeing an example project might help me too.

I am using SnemulDS version Alpha 0.6.
Also, (not sure if this matters, but) I am running everything off of a 32GB microSD card with a microSD to SD adapter.

I have tried saving in A Link to the Past using this same emulator on a DSlite with the R4 Gold cartridge adapter, and surprisingly it works with this setup.
However, I would still like to know how to get saves working on the DSi.
(if you are wondering, the DSLite isn't mine, or I would just use that)

Thanks for the response, by the way

why you using SnemulDS version Alpha 0.6?

use TWiLight Menu++ - built in SnemulDS which should work better i think.

Sadly, the built-in version was having the same issue. I tried switching over to version 0.6 because that version was working on the DSlite.
