I doubt that's possible, but if it is someone should make a simple app with the sole purpose of waking the switch. a widget would be so convenient.

I'm impressed how well it works. However, I'd love to be able to use external controllers with it, touch screen is very unprecise. I noticed some inputs not being registered or being registered multiple times, I don't know if this is because of the touch controls or the app itself.

Try to install Octopus and assign your external controller buttons to touch presses.

In theory, yes, and that is why I want to test it, I want to measure the input latency and see if is convenient, otherwise it would be better to buy an 8bitdo adapter.

It does work on Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 , Octopus didnt work me : both apps have a lor of advertaising

Dude, just download a custom rom based on android pie
I just did that for my S7
BlackDiamond rom
The app is actually really good, unlike jakibaki's it connects over bluetooth and I felt absolutely no latency!

Did you notice any major latency? I haven't tried wired gamepads yet

Im only made a teste on MarioU, and worked very well. no major latency whatsoever, but... i not played for too long, only a little test.
