Hacking Gateway menu isn't launching the FBI .3ds file. No icon and does nothing. Tried multiple versions.

I haven't booted up my 3ds since right before the Switch came out, but I want to play New Leaf. I was dumb and deleted a lot of my 3DS folder not thinking so I need to launch FBI via Gateway. I tried a SNES emulator .3ds file and it works fine. Any ideas?

Get CFW and ditch gateway. That fixes every gateway problem that can occur.

I'm on 4.5.0-9U so shouldn't there be a browser hack still? I'm not opposed to CFW, I just see an overwhelming amount of info geared towards new firmwares and new hardware. I have the very original 3DS from launch in 2011.

Every 3DS/2DS and every FW is hackable. There is soundhax for 3.0.0-11.3.0. You can use that.

I decided to be lazy and found a DevMenu .3ds file that works. Thanks for the advice though.

It's unfortunate, but there is no reason to stick to such an old firmware just for GW. I lamented over switching over because of being setnon GW for a while after CFW came around, but once Luma came around the benefits of it were amazing in contrast of using GW. You are missing out on a ton of great games. If you switch then be sure to backup your saves beforehand.

The only thing I loved about gateway was the ability to not have to install all games as .cia.

Wish that feature would have came.

those files would of left ppl open for more bans if they knew nothing if what they are doing. Which most ppl ive seen around here dont. It saves a lot on ppl not getting banned.

That was ambiguous. The CIA installs or .3ds? Either way it is detectable (less so if you used a private header for .3ds as long as it was for that specific game — which probably wasn't adopted by many).

Can you recommend me some later released 3DS games that you like? Like I said, I hadn't turned on my 3DS in two years.
