I've been told that the 3DS models were built to be future-proof, which is why 3DS struggled so much with them. Additionally, I doubt Game Freak wants to remake every model from scratch.

Pokemon is about "Gotta Catch 'em All!", not "Gotta Catch Some Of 'em!" If the National Dex is never going to see the light of day again, we won't be able to catch them all. This'll also turn most players away from ever playing Pokemon again, and I think it already has for some.
This also means we're never gonna see Meloetta again

the only time they did this was with the jump from 2nd gen to third and they released on GC colosseum and XD so the missing pokemons could be transfered to gen 3 again.

The National Dex will be DLC. You get a discount if you have saves for both Pokémon Let's Go! games, a Pokéball Plus, and a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.

The National Dex costs $40. The discount is $20.

I think there is going to be a lot of sampling bias w.r.t. opinions posted here on this forum.

You don't have a top-grossing franchise by catering to a niche and highly-involved audience. This is 100% a business decision made to improve ROI and reduce turnaround time between entries in the series. It will have pretty much zero impact on the decision to purchase for the vast majority of potential customers.

In such a sense, yes, it is a "lazy" move from a technical standpoint, but life is a constant tradeoff between value and required effort (Does everyone drive a Ferrari?). In this case, the required effort was just not worth it.

Also - LOL at not adding Pokemon "because of animations for Dynamaxing." The models/animations don't even seem to change at all. In graphics programming, changing the size of a model in a scene only requires a changing single scaling variable.

thats what i tough they just change the pokemon size on an animation, but dynamax pokemons only have like 4 moves and they are special moves if you notice like ultimate thunder and whatnot so im guessing they meant those animations, srs when sakurai goes all out and includes every smash fighter ever, game freak cheaps out and cuts alot of pokemons/ mechanics lol.

afaik there is only like 131 returning pokemons which means 670 are cut lol.

That's not nearly as much of a bombshell as the original story. Mega evolutions, Z-moves, Dynamax...it's all basically the same temporary power boost gimmick with a different name. Really only one of them per generation is necessary.

mega evos last the entire battle they arent temporary per say. but it sucks now that gamefreak itself will just cut like 80% of all pokemons to returna dn i bet we will get a measly 80 or so new ones like x,y and sun moon.

The smart ones make the most use of this, unless the ones using them know how to utilize personnel in a way that leaves them with nothing...not even knowledge.
