Hacking Question Euheheh, bricked my switch~

Y'know, my smart self was using NXShell for literally no reason. I went to the USER:/ folder and set Album and Content to archive bits. I assume there's no way to undo this as of now.

Here's the thing though; I don't have a 32GB~ microSD card lying around, my largest is 16GB. Is there a way to restore my firmware from my PC? Perhaps splitting the jointed NAND backup into two's? Or am I really going to have to go out of my way to buy a 32GB microSD card for this?

Edit: Actually, is there a recovery mode? Could I factory reset?

I, er, can i still restore the NAND if it was on a lower firmware? Because my backup is from 6.0.2 and I updated to 7.0.1..

You should be fine if you used choidujournx and didn't boot ofw

I, eheh, didn't. I never suspected I'd make such a foolish mistake and completely forgot about fuses. Since neither would work could I try to send it into Nintendo?

No, if you have a NAND backup you can restore it.
Get yourself a fairly large micro sd and follow this guide (just the Restore Nand Guide section).

Even if you have burnt fuses you can still restore your NAND, but once you have restored it you can't boot directly to ofw; you will have to skip the fuse check using AutoRCM, and through hekate you can boot ofw and cfw.

Ohhh, so I'd have to restore the NAND backup, go into CFW, open Choidujournx and update to 7.0.1 that way, then I should be fine?

You can try recovery mode (vol up and down during on boot) and factory reset or rather update.
Afaik, there is no way to restore split nand dumps.

Yes, but you will lose everything except stuff that is on the backup.

Yeah, once you have updated to 7.0.1 you will no longer have to skip the fuse check (you have to skip it only if the fuse count doesn't match with the installed firmware).

Yes, but you will lose everything except stuff that is on the backup.

There might not be a way to restore split NAND dumps but I believe there is a way to restore NAND over USB from a PC, so you don't actually need a microSD with enough space on it. Maybe the same method that is used for ChoiDujour?

Eyyyy, thank ya! This did it perfectly, the process didn't even take long which was surprising to me, the only concerning part being me thinking i restored the NAND wrong (somehow) and trying to figure out how to mount the Switch, which was me just being an update behind. So, again, thanks for not leaving me to suffer weeks/choking out $300.

Edit:
Actually, it seems I can't connect my Joy-Cons to my Switch via bluetooth, only handheld mode.

Flash memory has gotten stupid cheap. I just bought a terabyte M.2 NVME ssd for $90. Though microsd cards have been cheap for a couple years. I think my 128gb cost like 40 bucks some year or two ago

that's for files on SD. OP messed with archive bits on NAND. this is fixable by hand but it would be tedious without a program.

Not everyone lives in the US. They are like twice that here. However a 200GB is $60 so that's what I ordered.

For some reason they wouldn't sync with the console when I'd put the Switch into handheld mode. Instead, I used the alternate method of Joy-Con pairing and pressing the sync button to do it instead. Now it's works fine as before!

I'm waiting for 512 to get cheap. I have a 128 but I filled it up with only a few games.
