Yeah vc injection method works perfectly fine. Poor computer :'(

Yeah it seems currently nobody want to hack it. Maybe it's just not worth it? Injection works really great so button mapping is just secondary. Besides button mapping, I have no clue which benefit could be gained from hacking AGB-FIRM (?)

I think the default scaling is pretty bad. But that wouldn't be easy to improve.

Not much benefit, from what I can tell. Other than button mapping, the only thing I could conceivably think of is using the 3DS’ infrared sensor (which almost nothing uses anyway) to act like the GBA infrared adaptor, or let the 3DS’ gyroscope act like the gyroscope for the 2 or so GBA games that support motion controls. Pretty lofty goals, there.

i have a question.

when making, lets say a gba cia from a gba hack, under the product code and title id generator,
should i click the option to "Hide game from Activity Log" ?

or does it even matter

It doesn’t really matter. The whole “Hide Game from Activity Log” is an effort to stop Nintendo from banning your 3DS if they see anything weird in your log. First of all, we don’t know if they do so, but it’s possible because there’s been a ban wave or two in the past that didn’t involve people being stupid and, say, playing a game online before it’s released. Second, you can (theoretically) just choose not to share data with Nintendo/your 3DS friends to prevent this altogether. Finally, the product code and titleID for injected games of any kind (or any homebrew that you install as a CIA) will always be different from what Nintendo uses, in an attempt to prevent conflicts from legit games from the e-shop. It doesn’t matter if that game you are injecting is a hack or not. Unless you have a specific reason, you can just ignore the titleID and product code fields.

I wonder if it's possible to make native gba injection work with certain gbc titles like Wendy Every Witch Way that provide extra levels when used on the gameboy advanced.

Not that I know of. However, there are patches that you can apply to those games to make them think they're in a GBA. That's what I do with Wendy and the Zelda Oracle games.

When I access the projects window it gives me this weird graphic glitch where half the window surface is just plain grey and I cannot access all the settings, what can I do?

Go back a few pages to find this. Maybe adjusting the magnification will help.

If you want to run this without messing with your windows scaling settings, select properties... on the exe and check out compatability, high-dpi scaling. Check the override box and pick "system" from the drop-down box. It'll be a bit blurry but everything will be where it is supposed to.

has this project been dropped?
the author says its not abandoned. but as of first public release of beta 26 on december 2017 until now (march 2019) with beta 27 is a really slow development. i hope he can finish this project or atleast provide some updates...

I'm having an issue with opening NSUI on my computer. I download the zip, and attempt to run the exe... and nothing happens. Any ideas? I'm able to run other executables without any issue, and I haven't seen anyone have a problem opening this one from my searching, so I know I must be making some stupid mistake.

Is there an option to reduce the window size or partition the elements in the GUI into separate windows or tabs? I'm trying to use the program in a VM (since I don't main Windows) and the biggest problem so far is that I can't reach anything below "Limitations / Features". In particular, I can't reach the save type options for patching Pokémon GBA games.

EDIT: for hard data, my physical available resolution is 768 height; the program seems to expect a 1800 1080px height viewport.

Again check your display scaling. (right click on desktop -> display settings). I can just barely fit everything on 1080p with 150% scaling. So that means at 100% scaling it should fit the same at 720p. You might have to hide the taskbar if its on the bottom or move it over to the side. (right click on taskbar, toggle "lock the taskbar" and drag its borders around)

I have 100% scaling and the window does not fit on the screen. Windows offers no options to reduce it below 100%.

So far the only "solution" end air quotes I've found is setting up dual monitors on vertical mode and stretch the VM vertically across the monitors, but I don't think that's feasible without physical monitors.

Its easily reachable for me on a genuine Windows 10 machine at 100% scaling and 768p. I think something else is going on because this program shouldn't require 1080p at 100% scaling...

Edit: this is what I see at 720p for example. Full height is included in the crop. (I moved the taskbar over to the right)

That's weird. I'd have to try this same release in another VM I have. I wonder if too many things changed between versions, because for example I have the beta-26 in that other VM and the three projects I have there build the CIA perfectly, but here in the beta-27 they either crash or error out with the _DURING_PROCESS message.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
