I just bought a Wii U and want to hack it but i have a few questions:

1- I will install haxchi since it seems to be one of the most popular choices (not sure if there are any others?). I've also read about cbhc but seems it's only purpose is to save you a couple button presses every time you reboot the console and seems real risky as it can brick the console with something as simple as moving the channel in which haxchi is installed. Is there any reason to install cbhc other than to save a few seconds every time the console is turned on? Are there better alternatives to haxchi?

2- i already have a hdd that i used for my wii and plan on formatting for wii u, and i've seen some ways to install games. One is to inject the games to the hdd and have them appear in the wii u menu, but there seems to be a 300 limit i think. I have wii, gamecube, wii u, wiiware emunand and a few emulators and want to know if i can run all (or most) of them from a single hd? What is the best or most recommended setup to load games from different consoles? Is there a way to get around the 300 title limit like a usb loader? There seem to be countless different guides on loading or injecting games, is there a definitive guide on injecting/loading games?

1 - CBHC is safe as long as you read the instructions and do/don't do what is said (wiiu.hacks.guide <--- for help). You win a little bit of seconds, a more "official" looking setup, and an easier way to boot things like hbl or wii menu at boot... There is, depending of your firmware, alternatives to haxchi, like using browserhax and installing Mocha but i would still recommend to stay with haxchi.

Basically, as long as you do not remove the game, format your console, move your game to an HDD, unlink your NNID or corrupt your game, you're fine with CBHC.

2 - You can install wii/gc/wiiware games on the Wii U homemenu, there is, however, that 300 titles limit, you should be OK though... Even if you reach the 300 titles limit, you can still install some wii games on your sdcard or an another HDD and play them in Wii Menu..., you can also use loadiine to install more than 300 wiiu titles (needs a big SDCard). Finally, i think there is a workaround by using multiple users (the instructions are hidden somewhere on this forum...)

The setup i would recommend:
- CBHC + 1 HDD for the Wii U side (500gb should be enough, you can get any capacity <= 2tb) + 1 HDD for the Wii side (2tb) + 1 sdcard (64 or 128gb) + Loadiine (for more than 300 titles) + USBLoader GX (Wii HDD) + WiiFlow (SDCard)

If you don't have enough budget, you can go for the CBHC + 1x 2tb HDD + 1 sdcard (128gb) + loadiine + wiiflow

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a 1 tb hdd so i could inject only my favorite games and use a single hdd, but i read that injected gamecube games can only be viewed throught the gamepad's screen, is this true? In that case i would need another storage device anyway.

Also can i inject wii vc and wiiware games?

1. It saves one button press if you set default to sysmenu and haxchi is kid proof. Save yourself stress and just use haxchi, no need for cbhc. Just my opinion. Like it or lump it ;)

You can, at my knowledge, play GC injects on a TV... As a bonus, you can use the Gamepad as a controller...
I would recommend to get 2 storage devices if you can, 1 for Wii U, 1 for Wii...

You can inject WiiVC (I would recommend to use either the Wii U ones or an emulator as it can allow so much more things/stability/graphics) and WiiWare (not sure about that though...)
