Yep, I already noticed that. I've made a few changes to how the module handles changing and holding clock speed. I've also added a plugged in/unplugged mode. Anyone willing to test run it can PM me. I don't feel super comfortable dropping builds over and over in this thread.

Did the 768mhz mod require a whole new Atmosphere? No patch like the standard?
No, anything to much clocked will just make the Switch shutdown like any other device. It got overheat protection inbuilt.
Also... this makes me wanna play with liquid metal....

The system doesn’t get very hot with the 768mhz overclock, the fan gets pretty loud tho. The main concern is the battery

If you're really interested in running docked GPU speed in handheld, you're more than welcome to give mine a shot. It's for Atmosphere. I'll attach it in a zip. Holding ZL and clicking down the left stick activates it. ZL + Right stick returns it to whatever it was before. If you want to be 100% sure it's working ZR + Left stick will output a file to sdmc:/clock.txt with what the system reports the clock speeds are. I don't have any games that seem to benefit from it a lot though, so I'm going by what the system reports.

I had to push both the CPU and GPU full blast before that happened. The Switch showed the battery warning and turned off. It was fine. Really warm, but fine.

probably asked before (at least for the m4xw version) does this work on SX OS? plans to?

Agree with the fan. Also agree that the system doesnt seem to get very hot (probably due to the fan spinning faster). This is true even after playing a hour wolfenstein in 768 mhz, a game where gpu utilization is very high due to the 720p max resolution in handheld mode.

The system doesn't seem to get very hot, but the fan does get significantly louder/faster

You mean that you clock the GPU higher if the Switch is plugged into a power source (not docked, just a charger plugged in)?

It's kinda sad that Nintendo didn't think of adding an additional performance profile for this possibility, but I guess they didn't want to make it more complicated for the developers. I remember them allowing a higher screen brightness on the 3DS when it was plugged in compared to when it was running on the battery, but that doesn't have any impact on the game performance of course.

Yes, the latest version I'm running clocks it at 768MHz if you're plugged in. If you're not, 537MHz. I feel more comfortable with it that way. Also, for anyone who PM'd me: I'm not ignoring ya. Just in the middle of something right now.

Seems like a good solution. I'm not running any Switch games on my homebrew Switch, just emulators, so I probably won't have much use for a GPU overclock, but I like the idea of using a bit more power in handheld mode when the Switch is running of a charger. ^^

Wonder if it possible to have a little OC on the CPU, maybe a 1,2ghz unplugged or 1,3ghz plugged. I've understood that the CPU can be OC without rises in temperatures or consumption, and a light OC can help a lot in games with bottleneck on the CPU side that causes framedrops in some games.

The issue with CPU overclocking though is that it can cause stability issues in some apps, 1.2ghz would probably be fine though.

I'd have to check it out further before I'd be willing to uncomment the code for it. It causes a lot of issues with games from what I've tested.
