While the majority of reported cases involved Splatoon 2, that doesn't discount the possibility that tampering with the save data for other games also led to bans. Smash for example has led to quite a lot of bans if you check the ROM-Hacking subforum, even leading to a rare Account ban. There was also another user I encountered who had a Smash-only ban despite using both the retail cartridge and digital versions of the game. Tampering with save data from any game is not a good idea, even if it is just dumping/restoring.

Right; the advice "don't hack if you don't want to risk a ban" still applies, but it does seem to me like "backing up/restoring/modifying saves in online games" is more likely to trigger tampering checks.

Hi again. I was wondering where I could buy a hacked switch if I could at all? Can’t find any online as far as I know.

Make sure you are using the latest CFW of whatever you're using. Also deleting the ticket would make certain games unplayable because the ticket is needed to launch it. If its an .XCI convert, it won't have a ticket to delete however.

Just change your boot.dat to the one used 2.5.1
What is your current firmware? Which version of SX OS are you using?
EmuNAND has a few advantages. For one thing, it can let you enjoy the benefits of being on a higher firmware without updating SysNAND or dealing with AutoRCM. Another advantage is that EmuNAND can act as a sort of "ban prevention" tool. If you do all CFW and homebrew in EmuNAND but keep all legitimate online play in SysNAND, your chances of being banned reduce dramatically since SysNAND and EmuNAND don't share any information whatsoever. The last advantage of EmuNAND is that if EmuNAND gets bricked, it won't brick your SysNAND. The cons of course is that you will need the required space to install EmuNAND whether it be the internal memory or on the SD card. And of course, the only way to update EmuNAND is with ChoiDujourNX because updating online will flag the whole console for a ban, both SysNAND and EmuNAND.

Maybe try removing the data with Goldleaf? If that doesn't work or you don't want to try it, the only other option is a factory reset. Make sure you backup any save data and anything else you want to preserve before going that route.

You don't have to delete anything off of the SD card since there is no evidence that Nintendo scans the SD card.

I am using 6.2.0 on switch and tried sx OS 2.5.2 and 2.5.1

SXOS question.: Is it better to do a clean installation (formatting microSD & creating Emunand) from the 2.5.1 BETA to the new 2.5.2 STABLE ? Or just change the "boot.dat?

I am at the latest version, WOFF didn't crash anymore when I reinstalled it after a ticket delete.

Weird but I'll keep my eye out for more issues.

OK so I'm pretty sure I've bricked my switch by trying to restore the NAND. I originally backed up version 6.0.1 via hekate when I first started out and then eventually updated my switch to 6.2.0 using choidujournx. I wanted to play online again so I just restored my 6.0.1 backup and the switch successfully booted up. The problem is, I powered off my switch to insert another sd card and it just wouldn't turn on. I also tried booting it into RCM mode, but tegrarcm couldn't detect it. I'm also sure it's nothing to do with battery drain since the switch was at 80% when I started the restore. Can anyone please help.

Alright, so I just updated my permabanned Switch via Choir to the latest FW and accidentally chose the non-exfat installation. Now my Switch seems unable to read the microsd card. Is there a way to add the exfat support again, since I cannot update the regular way? :(

You could just use a FAT32 card to update to the same firmware but this time select ExFAT option. Your ExFAT card would then work

You only need to update your boot.dat.

Well for SX Pro, all you need to do to update to the latest version is download the latest boot.dat which is 2.5.2 and put it on your SD card, replacing any old boot.dat you had on there. Outside of that, there's really not much else you need to update. Not sure what you mean by "programs" but if you mean homebrew applications, that all depends on what you use. No point in having homebrew applications you never use take up space on your SD card. However there is one I recommend which is ChoiDujourNX. It is a firmware installer for the Switch which lets you update your system firmware offline provided you download the firmware files from the Internet and put them on your SD card.

Bunch of questions if someone could help me :) :

- Once I hack the switch, can I still use the games I bought on eshop? (if not, can I use the save I had?)

- This may seem like a basic question, but should I avoid all kinds of updates from any roms?

- What does it mean if my switch gets banned? I don't get to use it anymore or I just can't access wifi, eshop and all that stuff?

Hi again. I was wondering where I could buy a hacked switch if I could at all? Can’t find any online as far as I know.

Buying a hacked one may be hard, but I got an exploitable switch on ebay yesterday. I had to ask a bunch of sellers and found a good deal and a couple prospects. If you got $400-450 I can get you in contact with one of the sellers I came across.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Bunch of questions if someone could help me :) :

1. I don't know
2. I would research update using ChoiDujourNX w/AutoRCM, I wouldn't use roms to update.
3. Banned means no access to any Nintendo servers eshop and multiplayer you can still use your switch offline.

I've looked into ChoiDujourNX a few months ago to do this update so I could play Mario party but ran into the issue of not being able to install it on SX OS. Tried to install ReiNX and atmosphere but I am having issues figuring out how to do the dual boot process using the SX OS payload injector. Also ran into the issue of not being able to find a OS update on XBins

Edit: just figured out Xbins, got 6.2.0-1.0 installed. Is that the best one to force?
