I think that extracts what's inside the .nsp, not just the .nsp itself. It most likely won't work for this.

For some reason I am still getting issues with files 4GB and over when trying to install Tinfoil
Is it Kosmos version of Tinfoil i'll need? (I'm on Fat32 128gb microsd card)

For some reason It double posted, not intentional, server issue

Spliting NSPs for some reason has no seemed to be recognized by tinfoil (ReinX tutorial version)
Anyone got a direct link to kosmos? (Pokken and Kirby Install fine but big titles can't be found even when I have them in a folder as stated)

P.S: I'm on FW 2.1.0 if that makes a difference

OK lets see we have the splitter here:

Then once you split them it'll be files xx.00, xx.01, xx.02 etc.. in a folder. Copy that folder to nsp folder for tinfoil.

Then you want to use the latest NXShell edit: (grab from here, the one included with kosmos does not have the option to set archive bit, i think):

Enable developer options in NXShell, then find the folder you made and copied on the SD card. Set the archive bit using NXShell.

Then tinfoil will see the folder as a installable file.

Might wanna update your FW at some point (ChoiDujourNX), as I am sure some games wont work.

I highlighted them, then set archive bit and went back into Tinfoil after restarting and it still can't see the files

I put them in a folder inside NSP inside Tinfoil...weird, any advice?

P.S: The files are 00, 01, 02 inside the folder, do I need to make them .nsp or something?

Why not just use choi and update to 6.2? AutoRCM works great to prevent fuse burn. If you have a clean 1.0 nand backup you're covered so you can downgrade to 1.0 later and you'll have exfat support.

Just find the 6.2 firmware at xbins and extract it after downloading. Then put all the files in a folder and move it to your sd. Then use choidejourNX and browse to that folder and install with exfat support. Done

Is there a way to use the Network Install option, that could work?
Would I have to put my real IP settings, is that why that option has issues?

Choi NX version is very easy and then you have the option to go back to 1.0.0 if you want later.

If you upgrade any other way and then you dont use autoRCM you can forget about downgrading sysnand to any other version later for any available exploits.

I think (kinda drunk lol) the folder has to have .nsp included. But it should of been made by default of the split files name. I have only done all this on 5.1.0+ FW if it makes any difference.

Network install would work too....

I should be able to do this on a low firmware too though (2.1.0 I think), Hmmm.......
Is there a tutorial of any kind for Network Install NSP or even USB Install!?,
I am struggling to find good tutorials anywhere...

Another way is that dump sys update from cartridge games that you OWNED . Then use choi nx to upgrade to desired fw+exfat. I thought was it was complicated but actually pretty easy if you owned physical game that have update file+cfw(I reccomend using kosmos)+choi nx + xci dumping hombrew ( idk if mod allow to share their name here or link ).

they are just python and command lines. So make sure python is installed.

So tinfoil tools for USB install in command line for example is:
python3 usb_install.py folder/of/files/here

once you get that and have usb install enabled on the switch, itll list the files on screen to be installed. By default they get split up during install, so it works on fat32 or exfat.

Which version of Tinfoil has the USB install? Whenever I try to install a version I get an error unless its from the Reinx Guide

, I can only see Network Install, I wouldnt mind doing it that way also...

This is exactly what i do. Im on 4.1.0. I use split nsp. I drag xci to split nsp in file explorer. Put the folder in nsp in tinfoil directory. Dont rename just move whole folder. Make sure to archive folder or you wont be able to see it in tinfoil. Right click properties, advanced achive. Should work.

I hit propertires, then advanced then hit archive this folder and dragged it back onto my SD card and yet it still won't appear on tinfoil, so weird

I may have to look into network installs if this issue continues

Installing files over 4GB

Split files using either AnalogMan151 splitNSP, or my slightly modified version in tools/splitFile.py (will handle both XCI and NSP file extensions, and set the archive bit for you under windows).
Make sure the generated folder has the right extension (XCI or NSP), and has the archive bit set ("Folder is ready for archiving" under windows).
The generated folder should show up under n1dus as regular NSP or XCI file.
Install as you would normally do with n1dus!

Or you could install them via USB using AluminumFoil. Works great on FAT32. No splitting required whatsoever.

If you don't have the USB install option in tinfoil, grab the tinfoil version from the Kosmos package: https://gbatemp.net/threads/kosmos-a-hekate-cfw-package.506280/

Also, for whatever reason, simply right clicking the path in AluminumFoil doesn't work when you press enter (on Windows 10)... you have to manually type the last letter. At least that's been my experience. For example, if the path where I kept my NSP files was "D:\ROMS\NSW", I had to hit backspace and manually type out the "W" from (...ROMS\NSW).

It installs NSP's surprisingly quick, comparing with how the N3DS installs CIA's. It doesn't transfer them, then install them; it just installs them. And there aren't any game files larger than 4 GB because I think the internal memory is also FAT32.

Haven't played around with AF yet but I hear it's much nicer than the default python way...
