Greetings,

I recently received my NS-Atmosphere in the mail, and after following the instructions on the SDSetup website, including making a full NAND backup, I am now running Atmosphere on my Nintendo Switch. I used ChoiDujourNX to upgrade my Switch from 5.0.2 to 6.0.1 (with AutoRCM to prevent burning fuses), and have been using the custom DNS provided on this forum to block access to Nintendo's servers.

I haven't installed any illegitimate games or anything of the sort, and the system update via ChoiDujour was the only major thing I have done thus far. Would I have any complications using the Internet on stock firmware at this point? Would I need to delete any error logs (if so, which is the best tool for this) or restore the NAND backup first before doing so? My motivation for getting CFW was pretty much to make backups of save files and potentially play around with emulators, so I'm trying to play it as safe as possible. Also, is the controller update safe if I am using the jig that came with the NS-Atmosphere, since I am not using a modified JoyCon?

Thanks for your time/answers.

Once you've ran CFW or homebrew on a console that console is pretty much not safe to use online, unless you restore the pre-CFW NAND backup.
You can backup save files (through NAND backups) and use emulators (through Lakka) without ever booting CFW, which then in theory should leave the system completely unmodified and Nintendo would be none the wiser.

So would I have to restore the NAND backup each time before going online then? Or do I have to make a new backup each time?

Essentially yeah, at least until emuNAND.
Most people will make a new NAND backup so they can return to the previous state after they're done using online.

So, in addition to the original NAND backup before CFW, I also want one for after CFW was intalled - so if I wanted to play online, I would restore the stock NAND, and after I was finished I would restore back to the CFW NAND?

So would I restore the stock NAND and make a new stock one to replace that one then? And it just looks like I'm using the same one but further into the future?
Yes...so each time you want to online, you need to restore the last backup that is used for online ....

Backup 1
Go offline
Boot to cfw
Restore backup 1
Go online
Go offline
Backup 2
Boot to cfw
Restore backup 2
Go online...
Repeat

Seems pretty straightforward, if not a bit of a hassle; is emuNAND going to be able to fix this in the future?
