Its Tinception, but we need to go deeper. We need to kidnap XorTroll, and take him three levels down so one hour in the real world, is 333 days in XorTroll's time, so we could expect a release in a few months. We're going to need a powerful sedative for this though, I recommend we ask LinuxAres for whatever he smoked to conclude that Tinfoil DZ was suspicious.
At this point, name it unTinfoil...

Suggest your names for Tinfoil!
And please, read this below before asking anything.

As you may know, Adubbz gave me the main developer role on Tinfoil a while ago.
I decided to make it a nice Switch title manager and installer, and I'm still and will be working on that.
After @blawar decided to rename his project Tinfoil and supposedly trademarked the name, I think that the time has come. Time for renaming.
Honestly I've never liked the name "Tinfoil", but left it because the community likes it.
Now that this happened, this is a great excuse for renaming my project.

But I'm terrible for choosing names sometimes, so I've decided that the community should choose the actual name of the tool they will use (soonTM)
For those wondering what will it do, I'm mixing the concepts of NSPower and Tinfoil on this project.

If you are still wondering why I'm renaming the project, it's mainly because I've wanted to do this a while ago, and to avoid confusion after DZ got renamed.

I really dislike that it's developer renamed it, because of the reasons he has to do that.

Go ahead and suggest names here. The most liked name will be the chosen one!
Don't suggest a name if it's already posted, if you like an already posted name simply like the post!

The last thing I'd do is to forget and stop developing this project.

I guess that I'll wait for a few days before choosing a name. Remember, be creative!
I would highly suggest a name which DOES NOT contain "NSP" or "XCI".
Including a filetype in the name would leave the project in a confusing state, if additional file support is later added.

I'd recommend something unique and with more meaning:

Name is only an indentifyer, doesn't mean much, at least not to me.

But all this toxicity... :(

Why don't you guys simply join forces, merge your code and work together on the same project? In this case name wouldn't matter, you could even become a good friends and after all, the community will benefit.

The only "toxicity" in here is people having to heckle and nag the living S out of others, because of some form of participatory tribalism. They choose one they are familiar with, now they are writing banners and posters for the other one to die in a fiar. Thats point one.

People cant follow any argument anymore - without putting more gasoline on the fire. Not sure if I would call that toxic, but its the closest thing that qualifies.

If on the other hand you have two egos clash - resulting in unsurmountable differences - thats not the end of the world either. In fact, it happens all the time.

If your main reaction to that is "why cant you all be friends and work together", you havent understood human nature.

So as always - with freaking mil...

"Toxicity" is used as an argument to "deplatform" (there I learned a new word). And only a world where there are no differences you can articulate anymore is seen as desirable.

Heck, let them quarrel for all they want to. But dont egg them on, and maybe try to make it apparent that a confrontation over "who has moral rights to use a name" is pretty silly, all things considered.

But no - millenial has to go with "oh, this so toxic - I'm feeling so triggered - cant we all just work together?".

Consider me triggered when I have to put up with the word "toxic" for much longer.

The only thing it describes is a proud unwillingness to engage with an argument. Make a button out of it. Make it your identity. "Calling people toxic since 2010."

Well, you obviously know the person you quote more than me to qualify him as millennial, but personally, I don't, so I will refrain from calling you an old reactionary (which you are not).

As much as I agree with some parts of your argument (yes debate is useful and not necessarily toxic in essence), I don't really feel like we are debating here, actually it was not the purpose of the topic.

Moreover, I don't see an issue of wanting to skilled person work together despite differences in their approach and goals. Because the debate is qualified of toxic doesn't mean that one couldn't suggest to settle differences and work together, and this has nothing to do with human nature. Because "that's not the end of the world" doesn't mean it's good either...

Actually the "who has moral rights to use a name" is pretty silly IMHO. It's just a freaking name for a homebrew on a console, whereas some tends to think it's a major deal if 2 github repo have the same name (appart from confusing users there is no problem).

Here I go offtopic again :(

The millennial attribution is just an ongoing thing with me.. ;) I like that it stirs up people a little, makes them more reflective, because no one wants to take that barrage of attributions proudly. ;) I've also noticed, that if I only imply it - f.e. by writing mil... instead of the word the reaction is less harsh, and maybe more conducive to a debate.

Also - I just watched this before responding: h**ps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n8omxrbYUE

From the video: SJWs in colleges around the country play human microphone of bigotry, shout people down, while having a safespace at the ready, stocked with a therapy dog, in which at the end of an "action", 30 of them end up - while they are preventing a public speech from happening. And this is happening at colleges. Because speech is deemed violence, and feels are deemed unequivical truths.

if you look at how the majority in here is willing to handle an argument they are whitnessing, its kill, or be killed, and dont get caught on the wrong side.

I think, that there is something freaking wrong here - and labeling everything you dont agree with as "toxic" is part of it.

I vote that BLAWAR be banned from gbatemp for numerous reasons. He is trying to start shit with developers. He is creating mass confusion in the switch hacking scene. He is not a trust worthy person, who is to say that he wont be stealing more projects and project names in the future. Moderator, admin, go ahead and ban his ip address, that is the only solution.
