Hi, I used 4NXCI to extract NSP's from XCI file, then used Tinfoil and part1 the game gave out the same error and then part2 the update continued and fixed it. It seems this xci installer does extract all the nca's but not installing all of them, it needs to install multi parts.

Hello, I am new to this forum but I have solved your issue. I was getting the same error message as you were. where Zerotwoxci would fail "placeholder" issues. I checked my switch free space and it was not enough for the game (XCI) that I am downloading. So I changed it to SD card slot and bam! no more problem. Hope this helps with anyone who is having the "Placeholder" issues with ZerotwoXCI

I am running software 6.0

Hi,

Newbie here to the forums, also new to the world of switch haxing. Awesome job with zerotwoxci :)

I have just unpacked two XCIs (Bomberman and Kirby).
I have another two that keep on failing. (Lego City Undercover and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)

I am currently using ReiNX on 6.0.

The two XCIs that are being a pain both have an error of "0x00236e02". see attached pic.

If there is a fix, please try to make it as simple as possible :D I have only been following tutorials to get CFW going as well as getting my keys.prod. whopping 3 hours. head ache much :( so yeah. i dont really know much of terminologies etc

thanks in advance!

Hello, did you check the storage space available for the game? If you are downloading 5gb game, there should be 5 gb in the sd card or the nintendo internal storage. you can check the storage space using nintendo system. ^^ good luck

Hi,

yep, got plenty of space. Both on the actual switch and on my 256gb SD card. I have only been putting the games in the SD Card. If a game does fail when using zerotwoxci, i do try to install the XCI into the internal storage. But in this case both Lego City Undercover and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe failed to install into the SD card and internal storage.

Thanks for the suggestion though! :)

FIFA 19 seems to have installed fine, albeit with a ticket error (presumably normal?) but doesn't launch, says it's corrupted.

If you read all of my posts in the thread you will see the issue was solved and it was nothing to do with the space on the sd card, while the placeholders need free space on the sd card, this was not the issue.

So it sounds like, XCIs are coming like the following:

Base Game
or
Base Game + Firmware Update
or
Base Game + Game Update + Firmware Update

I wonder if a newer revision of, for example, Zelda BOTW would have the scenario in question.

(please don't use what i'm saying as fact, just trying to get an understanding of what @coolfi is saying.)

4nxci change: "Added support for xcis with patch and addon"

sorta, it HAS to come with a base game and a firmware update (wether or not someone strips the update isnt my problem though), there are no carts that come without a firmware update on them.

I have the exact same error. I've tried MK8D, Binding of Isaac (Afterbirth+) and maybe Splatoon 2, I can't quite recall. Converting with 4NXCI works fine.

Some details on my setup: I'm running tomGER's SDFilesSwitch (sig patches + nogc + sys-ftpd), but I ran ReiNX (latest version, nogc) and it didn't work either. I doubt nogc has got anything to do with it, to be honest. I'm on 5.1.0.

My keys get loaded correctly (by ZeroTwoXCI) as far as I can tell, they were generated by kezplez-nx.

How do you fix the not starting/corrupted save issue? I see Elise addressed this in a bug report on GitHub but the solution was the 3rd patch with Hekate or just using reinx. Well I'm on the latest reinx and getting the same issue (Disgaea 1 JP). All NSPs have run fine thus far.

Hm. Trying to install valkyria chronicles 4 and it gives me an error that it failed to sign the ticket. It installs pretty well, but then when I try to launch it it fails and says "unable to boot the game" error. Could it be because I trimmed the XCI? I don't know how would that fail anything but could be. Does anyone have same experience as mine?

Yes, I am experiencing the same thing. See my post above yours. There's a fix for Hekte but could not figure it out with Reinx.

Tried it with my Super Mario Odyssey (revision 0) XCI and the main game works, but I think the manual NCA isn't being installed because the in-game Action Guide doesn't work at all. Is there any way to fix it to install all the NCAs?

I used Hekate with the patch and it doesn't seem to be working. Trying out ReiNX

I actually solved the issue just by using the latest nightly of ReiNX. Works like a charm with no issues at all. I did everything they mentioned on Hekate but it wouldn't work no matter what. For now get the latest ReiNX
