I just bought a 32gb microSD card so does anyone know how to move all my CFW 3DS contents to this new SD card? Is it just moving all the files manually to the new one?

Format it as FAT32 with guiformat and make sure your card is ok to use with H2testw. If its integrity is fine, then just copy your previous contents into the new card.

Use Disk Utility to format. Be sure you select "MS-DOS (FAT)" and not "ExFAT" regardless of the size.

On the other hand, since it is 32GB, it is probably not ExFAT, so it's unlikely you need to format it.

What will show up if it doesn’t need to be formatted, will it just say MS-DOS (FAT) so I don’t have to do anything or should I still do the process anyway? Should I also check it with F3X?

With a 32GB card, just format it normally on Finder/Explorer to avoid confusion. 64GB and above is when you need to use these programs.

As for "MS-DOS (FAT)", that could easily mean FAT16, which is not what you want... Oh wait I remember this confusing Apple terminology. Nvm.

I have two N3DS XL and I want to transfer my userdata from one to another (new one is the SNES ver). Both have Luma3DS + BS9.

How should I proceed? Should I update both to 11.8 and do a system transfer? Will that flag my consoles? Or is there another way to transfer my userdata? Not worried about games because I can install them later in the new console.

FAT16 works fine here too, but a 32GB card can’t be formatted to this anyway.

Additionally, Finder does not format drives. That is what Disk Utility is for.

Oh OK, forgot about FAT16 limitations. So how does a Mac normally format a drive? There are no options to format a drive on the interface or context menus of Finder?

If not, then Disk Utility is the default program for that and you just change its options right? Yeah, I never really used a Mac recently outside of setting it up for family, or resetting for sale.

Finder has nothing to format drives, it is all done through Disk Utility. It does not format volumes to FAT16 except very small ones. 32GB cards also come with FAT32 by default.

I'm only now getting into 3DS modding, I saw that on -snip- they also have downloads for the updates, so I was wondering is it because it's the only way to update games with downloaded cias on a modded 3DS?Or can normally update cias like a legal copy of a game or will I get banned?Also, can I use the eShop if I use FBI?I know that Nintendo bans you only for using stuff like FreeShop, at least that's what people told me.
Can I play online games without getting banned?Again, I know that only Freeshop users can get banned.
Also, is Mega safe as it asks me to get an amount of data from my phone?What is it asking exactly?Can I download from that site without worrying?

You would only be able to via Seedminer
You'll need one of the games on this list for it, so you'll be spending at least $2 doing it. Good luck though!

I have been away for a while, but I would like to come back the scene. I haven't turned my system on yet. I am still on update 11.6.0-u39 through flashcart with luma3DS. My questions for you guys are as follow.

-I need to update, because it was focus? I would prefer to be on the latest update.
-What do I need to do for the update 11.8.0 update?
-Can I just update lume3DS through lumaupdater? Anything else?
-I haven't installed any Freeshops yet, but the last I heard they aren't working/should be used on 11.8?
-Is there anything I need to know about the 11.8.0 update?

Get Luma 9.1 from https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases and replace your boot.firm, then update your console.
FreeShop no longer works.

-You can either get your updates as a .cia or from the eShop. You probably won't get banned over a free product, like an update.

-You always run the risk of getting banned if you have CFW, but FBI isn't a big red flag. The freeShop bans theory is because of new info being sent to Nintendo when you download (look up the forums for more info).

-You can play online.

-I personally use MEGA for storing copyrighted content, I guess I would recommend it.

@NFates I did see a thread going on about that new information getting sent out. I'll look into it more. I do like playing online with my cartridges. Thanks.
