I'm getting triggered about all these people saying that restoring NAND is fine and won't get you banned. It is real if you were only offline. But still. If you never installed nsp (in particular, cause that's the only thing which modify the NAND) (actually, nsp on the sd card might be fine, but might need well restoring in this case) you'll be fine without restoring anything, because hekate and open source sotware don't leave traces after a power off currently (except the 3.0 way to install the hbl, and a "future" not-impossible coldboot exploit). I'm not talking about sx, and take in accout that I never talk about that in those posts.

But if you were already online and you had errors/gamelog/etc... there might be mismatches (even while restoring a save) AFTER restoring, and it'll be even worse in that case... But who knows... Were talking about Nintendo here.

So... quick warn: no you won't necessarily be fine restoring a nand backup.

Done what? Restore the Nand? Absolutely, many people, all the time. It is something you may not want to do everyday as there is time and effort involved so it isn’t like dual booting a PC. But say Smash comes out and you want to play online with your friend from college who lives 500 miles away. No reason you can’t go legit for a few days or weeks and then go back to CFW. There are guides in the tutorials section. I think the the Nand does degrade over time, but think it is rated for 5000 or so writes. I think that is enough before it becomes obsolete.

Well of course, gargbage in garbage out. My third switch came out of the box, powered on, skipped through set up screens with no WiFi or Nintendo account set up. RCM, Hakate, Full backup. That is a pretty clean Nand.

I don’t have three becuase I am a collector or rich, I have two teens that actually funded the first two selling off 3DS carts and Wii U disks.

Well that's what I said, if you keep it offline it is a garbage in 'n out.

And even here just launching hekate won't ban you. Rebooting from hekate means stock firmware if you were at stock at first.

And after that comes the homebrew or piracy problems. Who is Nintendo going to ban? Good question.

got a question say if LGP has a day 1 update (probably) can i just simply remove my internet to play normally it kinnda worked like that on DOOM

nintendo's logic is flawed i mean the eshop yes but unable to update your fw it will be an increase of piracy since we can't legitly update our systems and then ppl like me would pirate more just because we're pissed

How so? They get banned for not staying in airplane mode. You can’t get banned if you stay in airplane mode and never went online. Unless you beleive the Nintendo Cops sneak into your house in the middle of the night and audit your Switch. :rofl2:

good idea, thats what i sort of plan as well.

lol i mean if you stay in airplane mode forever you wont get banned, but you've basically banned yourself

ive seen a lot of reports of people only using their switch in airplane, then connecting once to the eshop and being banned. must be from the logs that are sent

I would highly recommend against the usage of FreeshopNX. It is one of the riskiest things you can do to get banned.

In that case, FreeShopNX is not going to work because it uses your own console's certificate. You can try hunting down the private certificates being distributed and use them with any CDNSP tool available until they subsequently become burnt. Otherwise you will have to wait until hackers devise a way to get around bans which doesn't seem likely to say the least.

They literally banned your certification from their server so when you connect to it the authorization denies it. Theres no way for it to work unless you figure out a way to hack their server then unblacklist your cert. The only way is buy a new switch... Also never heard of a reban.
