@Draxzelex: yep, I noticed this thread shortly after activating the license when i was looking for more resources to have fun, got paranoid since my account has at least a thousand dollars worth of legitimate purchases and I didn't want to lose access to them.

Another thought I had was that firmware version surely plays a role, right? The OS could have been modified at any point to send more/less information to Nintendo in different circumstances. 5.X came out after the first homebrew I believe, so it would make sense if they added some code to detect what's running, if anything is being played with, maybe checksums on values they expect to be there but SX OS modifies?

This is a problem that I can't seem to resolve in my head how to properly deal with. When Nintendo decides to finally launch a new firmware, its going to make the data a bit...awkward. Now there are going to be people who were banned on a lower firmware while reports for banned and non-banned continue to circulate. I could make another sheet for each firmware, but this might end up becoming too many sheets to keep track of if previous device firmware histories will be anything like the Switch. I just might have to start listing when people get banned, at the very least after a new firmware rolls out. You cannot check to see if you're banned or not without being on the latest firmware so previous firmwares will always be omitted as higher ones will always be more secure.

Uh, exsqueeze me? $1000? Why are you pirating? Do you not already own everything worth owning?

I mean, personally I've spent quite a lot on the Switch and I'm happy to. I love it. And I love supporting developers that I like. But there's no way I'm paying $60 for a pared-down version of Wolfenstein 2 when I can find it much cheaper on other platforms. Same with Doom. I got it used for $10 on PS4. Why would I buy it for $60 on Switch? Never gonna happen.

Now, Sonic Mania Plus for $24 (using GCU at Best Buy while it still lasts)? Absolutely buying that.

Early results indicating people don't want to see data removed which I hope is for the right reasons because I may have worded the poll choices incorrectly. For removing them, I just won't be asking people prospectively these questions but everyone is free to give that information still. Not to mention that all of the data if removed is sent to the "Removed Categories" tab so its not actually removed but relocated. Problem is GBATemp is not letting me re-word the options so I can only hope people are voting appropriately. Anyways, there's still 6 days left.

Can't you just make a Google Forms for banning so we get an excel file as outcome and can filter on specific things to find out more on whats causing the bans?
This is quite unreadable, I'm currently trying to put all answers into one place and will prob post a link here soon.

If I give editing access to everyone, I risk losing all of the data as soon as one person decides to start editing or removing everyone's answers. Its a risk I'm not willing to take.

You can make the results form read only via Google, just make a Google Forms and all results will be automaticely saved into an Excel which you can lock and make it read only/download only so people like me can do some easy research.

I wish Google Docs were that user-friendly but they really aren't. Also, results will not automatically save into an Excel file without someone punching in the data i.e. me. And that data is still subject to user-error when I let people enter it themselves. There are ways of modifying the viewing the information available to your viewing pleasure without full access namely sorting each of the columns and/or freezing certain rows/columns. And if you want to make edits to the spreadsheet, there are numerous ways to do that either by Google Form or commenting. Not to mention that my spreadsheet isn't the only that has limited editing access for most likely the same reasons.

Tell you what, I think I can come up with a compromise. Since the reports are coming in much slower now, I can push out a separate file for people to fiddle around with and analyze. I'm thinking I send this out not on a daily basis but maybe no more than one month at a time. This way, people have something to toy with without any chances of the original data being tainted.

I wonder what is the average time frame people usually get banned on their switch for hacking. It seems like it's all over the place. Still I think it would be interesting to know.

Seems like more and more people want to know. This may be my next poll idea. The problem for me personally would be going back through all of the reports to add in the dates people were banned.

That is true, I know exactly how you feel. Either way the polls you have going on is a good idea. Hopefully soon we could find some more concrete answers on what nintendo is looking for when they try to ban switches.

Its also making me have second thoughts about the "Removed Categories" tab as a whole since my whole intention was to make the official questionnaire as short as possible but keeping any accrued data stored there just in case. I might also have to conduct another poll to see if people want me to return to asking whether users injected certificates using LayeredFS backups to play online.

Anyways, I have also now made a copy of the Spreadsheet in Excel form (but compressed as a zip because GBATemp is not cooperating) for anyone who wants to personally toy around with the data without the risk of messing up the source.

Yep that's the thing, there's so many questions that need to be answered. The more questions the better, well until a certain point xd. I also want to answer your questionnaire soon but I may need to wait cause 3 days of using sx os is not a long time. But then again I heard of people getting banned within a few hours.

I don't intend on pirating at all. I have a decent paying job and I like supporting the companies. HOWEVER, I also like to be able to install mods on games, and I only planned to do so on my own backups. The problem is that Nintendo doesn't care about my intentions.

I also bought the SX weeks ago because I didn't have time to research anything and didn't know that the exploit SX used was known to the public at that point and that free hacks existed if you used a jig.

Also, I've been buying games I've bought before on Switch because it is damn cool to have a handheld with the power the switch has.

For about three weeks now. I paid attention to not going online on SX OS but it happened once by accident, updating games, and since then I don't give a crap anymore. I'm always connected when docked anyway, and update backups as well as installed nsp's.
Seems like sx os could be relatively safe atm to go online if you don't touch FS, CDN or Dev menu. I could be wrong, but from all the info I've compiled thats what it looks like now.

Yeah I installed nsp with tinfoil, not devmenu, but that only since tinfoil came out like four days ago.
