TX Releases SX OS v1.3

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with a big new feature: 'eShop NSP Support' :)
sxos13.jpg
TX does not seem to want to take a break, they have now pumped out yet another major update to their SX OS, check it out below:
We are back once again with an exciting update for SX OS. Let's skip the drama for now and jump straight to the list of new goodies:
  • Add LayeredFS support
Are you excited about any upcoming Game Mods for switch games? Well, we are! To accommodate this we have added what is commonly referred to as "LayeredFS" support. In short what this allows you to do is override specific files from a game with modified copies that are loaded from your microSD's (ex)FAT partition.
Place your custom game files under the following locations on the microSD root:
    - /sxos/titles/<titleid>/exefs/
    - /sxos/titles/<titleid>/romfs/
We can't wait to see what cool mods the community will come up with!
  • Add eShop NSP support
This adds support for installing and launching installed eShop NSP files. This is still rough around the edges and for advanced users only. To install NSP files you need a legitimate copy of the DevMenu, which can be launched currently via LayeredFS. We are still working on adding a custom and easy to use NSP installer to our own menu system. Stay tuned!
WARNING: We do not recommend playing online with installed eShop NSP games without a valid ticket, as this WILL lead to a console ban without a doubt.
  • Add low battery reconfiguration on bootup
Some users were having battery issues after playing around with Switch Linux custom payload. This fixes the "battery desync" issue every time you boot your switch. If you weren't use Switch Linux there's nothing to worry, otherwise; enjoy your penguins AND enjoy your horizon OS! :D
  • Hide OSX Temp files in game selection menu
If you were pestered by bogus entries in the game selection menu chances are high this is because you are using OSX (and Finder). We simply hide those files from the menu now. All cleaned up!
  • Removed eMMC password lock
It seems a perfectly safe and easily reversible hacker challenge we put in place for aspiring hackers has been blown out of proportion. We are sad to see so many false claims on the internet and to avoid any further false accusations and 'fake news' we decided to get rid of it. Namaste.
That's it for today! We'll be back soon. Team-Xecuter doesn't take a break. While others moan on social media we work day and night to bring you the best experience on Nintendo Switch.

But you have zero ethics, and will pirate no matter what I say (so I might as well hold my breath). But a company stealing code then selling it is SUPER immoral and they are pretty much ripping off their customers.

Not sure about the ripping off part tho. People paid for a ROM loader and got what they paid for.

it should be pretty simple, i just copied my atmosphere folder and renamed it to sxos like it says sxos/titles/[titleID]/romfs and none of the mods ive tried work
Well, homebrew support is still hit and miss. So, it wouldn't surprise me if it isn't properly working.

not having layeredfs was the only reason i wasnt using sxos to begin with, its simply more convenient to use over all the crap that needs to be updated constantly with the state of atmosphere/hekate and whatnot and if LayeredFS doesnt even work i dont see a point in using SXOS over hekate seeing as im not pirating games anyways

"We have bricked your console as a challenge for you to unbrick it." Does that even make sense, or am I misunderstanding what it says? :/
Nah, they're basically saying "whelp, we got called out and caught for attempting to protect our non intellectual property... With software that allows others to pirate. Guess we gotta make it right"

Yeah TBH there's nothing guaranteeing Atmosphere isn't mostly re-used open-source code either. I wouldn't think less of them for it, just saying it's a possibility.

TBH I'm just as pissed at Reswitched etc. The obvious solution to this would be to enable piracy in the 3-4 months since SXOS was announced (which I totally thought was coming). Instead they decide to be Moral-Fags and just abstain from the obvious solution. TX couldve sold their dongles all day at a reasonable price, we likely would've got a unified code base that included piracy and possibly with TX pushing their own commits to the source (ie more people working at it) and TX customers would've could've been able to get support from whoever they have half-assing the code.
Everyone would be happy then.

Note: To those who are bound to say it, I know the obvious thing is that people don't want piracy enabling shit on their resume. The obvious solution is to fork the codebase as a ninja group and not reveal who the code authors actually are.

Exactly. Everything else works better on Hekate.. I bought a license for SX OS, even though I really didn't need it. I haven't played a single backup yet.

TX and Gateway must be the same team!

Reading through this has been a treat, same folks arguing over the same thing. WOW! I personally like the free option that will give me EVERYTHING for free. But that is just me.

Yeah, then we wouldn’t have brick code, code theft, and paying for piracy. If not coding a backup loader behind the scenes, they should have enabled another developer to do so in atmosphere.

I've dumped all my carts to avoid having to switch them all the time. I did pirate N-Sane trilogy before my cartridge arrived on Monday, so I'm actually evil. Quickly injected my legit cert and put the box on my Switch games wall when it arrived.
