when you pull the battery and try powering it on for like a minute and then reconnect, does the battery % change when you power it on?

like if it is dying at 50% and re-calibrate it, does it now show like 1% or still 50?

Not necessarily. But since then, you can charge the battery normally.

Can we drain the battery complete in RCM and Power on it for 30seconds?
Or Must disconnect the battery?

I can't unscrew the joy con rail to disconnect the battery, what are my options to fix the battery issue? I don't want to read through 13 pages of replies
only the middle screw of the 5 screws for both rails needs to be off to remove the switch cover, i wish videos told me i could have saved alot of time...

so i opened up my switch, disconnected the battery, held the power button for a couple minutes, then spammed it a bunch. After that, i reconnected everything and closed up the switch. after all that i found that the switch wont turn on at all without the charger plugged in, and it will display the nintendo logo, then shut off when the charger is plugged in. What did i do wrong?

I didn't replace the battery yet but tried your suggestion first.
That appears to have solved the issue for me!

My switch is at 30% now and hasn't crashed yet! Before that it crashed at 55%.

I'll edit my post once the battery is at 5% but so far things are looking pretty good :)
Thank you so much for this suggestion!

EDIT: Down to 5% now and still no crash!
question did u reset battery then let it die then charge it or reset battery charge then let die

This has been answered several times. This bug is different from the standard issue which is easily resolved by letting the battery drain. If you have this problem after using an exploit, you need to pull your battery and drain the capacitors to ensure you get a clean cold boot. This process clears memory and resets the battery sensor. The drain trick won't work here.

i had battery problem as well not with battery really slow to charge and not charging over 50% when left overnight
i remember doing nand backup few weeks ago and keeping it on charger while doing it. i havent use my switch since till the day i got SX OS.

could the time i use my charge during usage of nand backup causes the battery sync problem?
what should i do from here?

i noticed after using sx os cfw, that my switch charges very slowly o.o
like 20-30% slower.

but it could also be that i have not used my switch for soooo long !!

i literally just started using it after 5 months in the dust.. it was turned off though at 80+% charge just to be safe.

but to me it seems op has a bug

Please read the other pages before claiming a one off bug --more than op was effected. This is a bug with most RCM payloads. Want the same effect? Boot to SX OS bootloader screen, leave it there for three hours, and boot into SX OS and then enjoy your new battery problem.

Also discovered a fix for the battery issue without pulling the battery as I was able to replicate a few moments ago.

1. Within Horizon (switch OS) let the battery charge to 100%
2. Unplug charger with sleep mode off
3. Let the switch shut itself off at a random percentage
4. Boot into RCM mode and let the switch drain itself until payloads are no longer deploying and it isn't turning on. (Typically overnight drain)
5. Let the switch charge in RCM mode for 45 minutes
6. Try to redeploy a payload, and boot into horizon.
7. This does the same as pull the battery as it drains itself completely beyond normal safe measures.

I did not recommend this in the past due to RCM mode rumor about switch not charging from completely dead state. It's been since confirmed it does, but have autorcm mode disabled just to be safe

sorry i did not read the previous pages of this thread because (im too lazy to atm.)

and anyway thx for the clarification, but honestly i wont disable autorcm, because i do not want to hurt my switch ._.
i keep sticking foil in it to boot into rcm when i first tried the hack.

and btw. so you mean to say whoever is using tx os and even while in the homemenu, puts their switch in sleep mode will have battery issues?
or is it like you play something and battery hits the range 15-30% theres a chance of it powering off?

i have not had this issue yet because i have not played until my battery hit below 40.

dang, this is messed up.
thought i was the only one, time to read this whole thread........................
