Maybe not. But as I said, JoyCon works fine but it's detected as bluetooth not handheld mode. Which means it's not working 100% fine.
Now that is an important detail!
*pfew* no "prebent controllers" on ebay aftermarket after all.. I'm relieved.

Can you confirm, that the controller doesnt act as a Bluetooth controller in that instance, because according to logic it still should. (Wiring this internally or bending the bin, you are still shortening pin 10 for "desired effect". Switching the short on/off with a little switch would work, but cutting into your Switch controllers housing has limited appeal.. )That's why soldering the spots is probably best inside the joycon. No side effects. Or use one of the jigs.
But @kombos mod is internal and he's saying it no longer gets detected in handheld mode. I think we would've heard if this was a known issue already but it's still worth waiting to see what others say. It's the pins that couple the controller (i.e detect it's connected) in this case you're not altering the pins you're just grounding pin 10 internally so the pins will still make the correct contact when you slide it in as normal on the exterior.

If you're still concerned make one of the jigs honestly they seem like a nice clean portable non permanent solution.

I'm just wondering why I haven't seen anyone else mention this, not even the devs. I agree it's a big issue if it's indeed the case.@subcon959 I've got switch installed so when I short PIN10 it gives me RCM but JoyCon act as a Bluetooth connected controller. However when I change switch position it act as a normal JoyCon in handheld mode. Thats why I don't recommend making any permament mods (bending, soldering spot etc.) on JoyCon. One should be able to disconnect PIN10 from the ground at some point, hence jig or microswitch/REED switch installed inside JoyCon is recommended.

I think I saw that somewhere on the forum already - thats the reason why I have used switch in my mod. However I'm not able to find it now. Well... let everyone who bent pins or did any permament hack check that in HorizonOS on bottom left corner of the menu screen. If JoyCon is not in handheld mode you will see other JoyCon icon.
I'd wan't pictures of people who have accidentally ordered the 20 cm version, please.
Just had to post this, just to simple :-D
Someone can explain me how to put the copper wire xD and after that what? If we short pin 10 can we access to pegaswitch and hbl on 2.1 and if we want to access fusee it's 9 & 10?
Thanks but im right its just 10 to get homebrew? And 9&10 to acces RCM?I would recommend reading forum - or wait when someone post GUI and video guide on youtube.

I know, you need to do more but I mean what pin we need to short, because I know for RCM after short the pin you have to press the volume up I think and then connect the switch to a pc via USB and a few things more, for The pegaswitch I don't know but I just ask for the pins hahaI don't think you well understand what is this thing about.
