I should buy a flashcard but i don't want to spend more than 11€-12€, I've already a 3ds with cfw so I will use it only to play ds games (and, for this reason, it's better if it's compatible with almost all games). Can you help me?

You may want to check out TWLoader first, as it might be able to run the games you want to play without requiring you to buy a flashcart. It doesn't have the best compatibility, but it's always getting better.

Main Thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/twloader-ctr-mode-nds-app.448375/
Compatibility List: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M7MxYQzVhb4604esdvo57a7crSvbGzFIdotLW0bm0Co/edit#gid=0

I already use it, I help updating the compatibility sometimes :)
Unfortunately my favourite games don't work or there is too much lag, for this reason i decided to buy a flashcard after months.

cheapest way you'll get a r4i (with time bomb Sep2020)

https://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=575 most recommended card best overall value no time bomb

Is there a way to avoid time bomb?

You can use Ysmenu, but it has a bit different (not as stylish) interface.

the kernel stops working, and you either need a new card, or replace the kernel with another one that isnt as good
Weird. Well DS scene has had all sorts of weird stuff with it.
Thanks for the info, people talked about "timebomb" in NTRboot compatibility thread which made me a little curious.

Or you can just simply set date back on your system. It is reading time from your device and if it is higher than 2020 it will show you message to update (and normally there won't be any updates)

Spend a little more and get a r4ids.cn R4i Gold 3DS or R4i Gold 3DS Plus, it's worth it. This one: https://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=575

Thanks for the answer but I don't want to spend too much, is this flashcard a good choice? https://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=146
I'n not interested in ntrboothax and I only search a cheap flashcard to play ds games (with a large compatibility)
I have that card. It's decent but has a "time bomb" of 2019. Now, I can say two things about the timebombs:

1. With this card, everytime the time bomb activated, they released a kernel that would have a later time bomb
2. Time Bombs can be avoided alltogether -at least on that card - by using YSMenu. That's what I exclusively use, nowadays.

It's only $6 more, it's still cheaper than what a new game would cost. Stop being so cheap.
And never buy a timebomb cart. There are cheap ones that don't have a timebomb. Don't give your business to those kind of people or they'll just keep putting out timebomb carts.

I appreciate your advice, but I think you can't understand a similar delicate situation. "Only $6 more" can be nothing for you, but not for who has to pay attention to every single dollar to spend for necessity (and not because I "want to be cheap", statement that is just an insult in my opinion).
For this reason I asked about a flashcard putting in evidence a specific budget.
Thanks anyways

I'm sorry if I came off as rude. It's just that a lot of the time people who come here asking for flashcart advice are just trying to get the cheapest cart possible because they're entitled pirates who don't want to spend a single dime on games. As you did say you didn't want to spend more, not that you couldn't spend more, I kind of grouped you in with them.

I believe you can get a decent, non-timebomb DS flashcart for that price. I'm just not sure which one. That price range is flooded with timebomb carts to the degree that it's hard to find one that doesn't have a timebomb. Just hold off on buying until you find one in that price range that's decent and doesn't have a timebomb, I know they exist as I've seen people list them before. Someone more knowledgeable on the subject than me might be able to suggest a cart for you.

You used to be able to get a r4ids.cn R4i Gold for $8.99, but the site that had the lowest prices is long gone, and the cheapest you can find now is about double that.

I have that card. It's decent but has a "time bomb" of 2019. Now, I can say two things about the timebombs:

I thought that was one of the carts that was timebomb free?
Are you sure you have the exact same cart (the r4i-sdhc.com one)?
The timebomb carts normally have a year printed on them.

My bad, I should improve my english.
Thanks for understanding and of course thanks for the advices :)

Avoid r4i-sdhc.com and r4isdhc.com carts.

I'd recommend this one: https://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=507
It's an r4isdhc.com.cn cart. It runs the Wood kernel like the R4i Gold, so no timebomb.

TWloader is nice and all but just doesn't work properly with most games i've tried.
I've heard people really like the wood kernel for flashcards, if you don't need ntr boot just pay a little more for an r4i gold or something.
It works without any hassle and is still very inexpensive for what you can do with it.
