nds-bootstrap loader: Run commercial NDS backups from an SD Card

nds-bootstrap:

Thanks to the work of ahezard, Gericom, Apache, Robz8, _catcatcat, and shutterbug2000 and other contributors, we can now load NDS games from the SD card, without any flashcard/SLOT-1 card.

Don't expect high compatibility, but do expect many, many updates.

hi I am not sure if this is the right tread to ask this, but i was wondering if it would be possible to add wireless compatibility to the nds bootstrap file. because whenever i try to use wireless on Pokemon games it is unable to connect, and then when i go back to the main pokemon game it boots up to a red screen. I am not sure if this is a problem with nds bootstrap or Twloader. And when i use ds download play it does the same thing. Also i am wondering if a red screen fix is possible, because also when i load mario and luigi bowser's inside story it boots to a red screen and the game is exactly the same size as pokemon heart gold witch boot completely fine with no red screen. So in the wondering i am just wondering if a red screen fix is possible.

The problem is with nds-bootstrap, since TWLoader is just a frontend for it.
The red screen is caused by either a broken or unpatched function(s).

Do you mean a broken/unpatched functions in twl firm/NAND or the nds bootstrap file?

Not sure if this is welcome here, but tried out the newest releases of nds-bootstrap and twloader. Only 2 games i'm interested in at the moment and they both boot to a white screen.

Lost Magic - E
LoZ Phantom Hourglass - U

Hype is Real https://github.com/ahezard/nds-bootstrap/releases/tag/v0.6.1 https://github.com/ahezard/nds-bootstrap/commit/f1b3e5704c7e34ce45cfb827d5612744ca313d45

Credits: ahezard, Gericom, Apache Thunder, Robz8, _catcatcat, and shutterbug2000.

Warning for 3DS users: Be careful with leaving cards in slot-1. If the save patch fails, you will lose your save data should the chip type match.

Important: For nds-bootstrap to work, make sure your SD card is formatted to FAT32 with 32kb cluster/allocation size.

For homebrew compatibility, check v0.5.1b.

Bootstrap path in TWLoader: "sd:/_nds/release-bootstrap.nds"
Bootstrap path in SRLoader (DSiWarehax): "sd:/_nds/dsiware-bootstrap.nds"

NOTE: Some release notes may be missing.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
