Well, if Shovel Knight for the Switch that can fix the resolution up to 1080p, patching the game and fixing the framerate certainly isn't out of the realm in pontentia.

Wait, what does a 2D, 16-bit-esque, side-scroller have anything to do with a huge open world 3D map with full textures in terms of performance?

Playing the Switch version there is definitley an improvement in Kakariko and other other villages.

Last patch, you could see the frames drop a lot when holding run and turning the camera in 360' turns than just running and walking in the area as normal. Now it's a lot smoother and less stutter occuring.

It's only about frame rate (and insect noise detection) ?
I don't mind frame rate, which I didn't even notice it dropped anywhere.
the only issue I noticed is the 2 seconds freeze when killing moblins. that is annoying, and if the patch fix it that's great.

I guess they didn't change the weapon durability. too bad :P

Can't install the patch. It downloads, says ok and after that, ask me for downloading it again. Any idea ?

(ok, i remove the sd card, and everything went fine after that...)

nope, somehow, when my SD card is in the switch, the update doesn't apply. Don't know why (perhaps because the first update was done without one ?)
Sounds like a defective or corrupt sdcard. Try copying the contents off it onto a PC, then reformat it using the Switch interface and restore the contents after.

did the patch the raft speedboat trick using the magnet and a metal sword? i can't get it to work anymore?

No they didn't. Using weapons to push the raft is usually tricky to acheive. Larger metal objects that you can walk into are easier. I used a metal chest to push a raft via magnesis just now, so confirmed they did not patch that. ;)

The fact games can be patched to fix more than stability, but resolution output.

A patch is a modification, or addition to, the original code. It can theoretically do anything. Especially since it's Nintendo's own game where I'm sure they have access to private functions that they don't include in the SDK.

I have both versions. Wii U version still has a pathetic framerate and is choppy all the time. Switch version fixed the framerate in all trouble areas, Korok forest is much better but still not perfect, no more long freezes when fighting the tall Moblins

I've been playing through Zelda on the Wii U, and it seems to me that this latest update helped the framerate issues somewhat, but of course it's still not running a solid 30FPS at all times (and likely never will). Some improvements I've noticed:

-Slightly less slowdown in Hateno village, Kakariko as well, but there are still areas that run very poorly
-Korok Forest's framerate seems marginally improved
-Moblins ragdolling can still cause slowdown, but I haven't had any drops to 0fps yet

Wish i was recording but this patch is the worst yet...I lost hearts for no reason, still finding rocks that are half finished and the cherry on the pie for me is my frame rates are worse....now my game locks up and runs slow regardless of the mode (ie handheld or docked) im rather quite pissed off that my 100% bug free handheld mode is compromised. HURRY UP AND RELEASE ARMS NINTENDO I DONT HAVE SHIT TO PLAY NOW
