Hey, so with your help I was able to get back to 9.2.0. I think arm9 and luma are still on the 3DS, but I don't see the icons on the home screen like they used to be. Do I need to follow this guide from the beginning to proceed? And should I do this before or after I system update the 3DS? Thanks again.
Yes after a CTR transfer I think your tickets get uninstalled, so you have to install stuff again. You don't have to install a9lh again, just inject FBI (if it's gone) and install the homebrew launcher cia etc. If you backed up your tickets then you can reinstall them using FBI. Go to SD and find the folder with the tickets, go to <current directory> and select install all tickets. That would mean you don't have to install stuff again.

I followed the a9lh + luma guide to completion, moving across my old emuNAND (I was previously using Cakes). Everything seemed to go smoothly, but although system settings says 11.2.0 I'm seeing an outdated home menu and no badge support (arcade, place badges button). I accidentally reinstalled my old tickets when I didn't need to (because I moved my emunand) but I'm unsure if that's of any relevance. If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated.

I've got Luma3DS and ripped my .sav from my Pokemon Sun cartridge to play it as CIA on my 3DS.
Will the private header on the game be transferred to the CIA? I know CIA's don't need headers to go online, but when I import the .sav of the cartridge, will the header be transferred?
I'm asking because my girlfriend wants to play Pokemon, too and I don't want to risk a ban if both of us go online at the same time.

Edit: I bought the eshop-version of pokemon, too. But I wanted to keep my progress and so I ripped the .sav of the cartridge

Use JKSM to move saves around. CIA games don't use headers at all (one reason why cia files are smaller than their 3ds equivalents).
You wont be banned both playing online at the same time unless you have the same device id (eg if you did a system transfer and then restored the pre-transfer NAND backup on the source).

Hold on, does the old 3DS even have badge support? My sister just said she's never had badge support (this is her 3DS, I haven't done anything on it since hacking it in January).

...so I don't actually have a problem here?

Hi, I have a black friday n3ds with 11.0. I don't have another 3ds with cfw and I don't have one of the 4 dsiware games, so I can't downgrade.

My question is, can I still install legit CIAs with FBI/waithax? I would like to install NSMB2, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, etc.

Thank you

Hi, I'm new to the arm9loaderhax, so please be patient :)
I have 2 Questions:
1. Is it save to update the n3ds in the future (I'm now on 11.2.0.35E) through System Settings -> Other Settings -> Firmware Update?
Or should I just stay on the current FW? Because in the future, there could be a newer FW and I would lose acess to the eshop.

2. I had to downgrade one of my n3ds with DSiWare Downgrade (the targed n3ds). On that n3ds was my game Zelda - Majora's Mask and on the source n3ds was Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Both games are now deleted from the devices, but can be redownloaded through the eshop, I guees?!
Since I had to bring the NNID from the source n3ds to the targed n3ds for the downgrade, will I be able to keep the games, after the 7 days when I change the NNID back, on the originally devices?
Both devices are the special editions, if that helps.
If so, how is the best way to proceed?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm having trouble finding a direct answer. On the Luma 3DS Wiki on Github, it says one of the other features of the CFW is playing custom GBA games.

How exactly do I go about doing that? I've tried downloading and installing CIA's that are labeled as VC injected games, but my 3DS just tells me there's been an error and I need to reboot it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't have to do the whole guide again. You can do as CGNetwork says (means you can update easily in the future), or you can do it manually by getting Luma 6.6 and pasting over the arm9loaderhax.bin.
So do I have to get a new armloaderhax.bin? Or can I just redo steps 7-11 after updating?

Hey all,
With the recent BF n3ds, I'm using Plailect guide and i'm stuck on the 9.2 downgrading section. One of the update CIA files is constantly failing the md5 check by SafeSysUpdater. I've downloaded the 9.2.0 zip both from his guide and that iso site and i'm still getting that issue.

Hello, I have trouble trying to make my softbricked Nintendo 2DS work again. I have downgraded from 10.2 to 9.2, created emunand, but then when I tried to access my Nintendo 2ds system settings to format my system it didn't let me in. So I formatted my console using rxtools on sysnand, but now the console doesn't start, giving me an annoying black screen everytime I switch on my system. I already tried updating by pressing UP+L+R+A while switching my system on, but it always gives me an error messagge saying that the system cannot be updated. I alredy checked an I don't have any tubehax DNS or stuff like that and I already tried removing my sd card, even tried doing this at my friends house with different router an internet provider and it turned out the same. Then I found out that by pressing R+A+B+Y+X i could run games without even access to the nintendo setup screen, but even by trying using OOT3DSHAX after the expolit gets in motion and "the homebrew channel is starting" appears on my top screen, the system just shuts down. So what can I do now?

Pretty sure those games are both tired to the system itself, not the NNID. You should be able to go to the eShop and redownload/repair the game on the target system. The same should apply for the source and it's game. It you're wanting both games on the target, you probably have to install the .cia on the target system and then transfer the save data (if desired) using JKSM or the like to move your data.

Redownload it through the guide making sure you select the correct region. It's possible the downgrade fails twice in a row, but I'd be willing to bet something is up with one of the files in the download.

ok, also, is "E6339468A1E82B1D50E9222F017C0477" the correct md5 for the 9.2.0-20U firmware zip?

oh , hey, now it's slightly different:
MD5 -> id: 0004001000021000 - ver: 8203 -> fail
I've never gotten a version on previous tries

I'm not near my PC to compare, but you could use this guide for help:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-downgrading-your-3ds.407888/

The MD5 for the file is probably different than the one you currently have as it is probably hosted somewhere else, but you can always use the one they refer to and use the MD5 in that thread. Just make sure you're using everything else from Plaitect's guide. The files in the updates folder should be identical.

1. You can probably always update, but it's a good habit to check the forums first just in case. If you don't want to check the forums then just use Luma Updater before updating in case Luma had to be changed to work with the new version.

2. If you have a pre-installed game on a console and you system transfer to it from a console with an NNID, the game will get linked to that NNID. If you go to the eShop you should be able to redownload them both on the target console (assuming the old 3DS had an NNID and the N3DS didn't). If the N3DS had an NNID and you had to format to do the system transfer, then you'll have to format it and sign in with the old ID to be and you redownload Majora's Mask. (Or, of course, you can just pirate it). Lastly if the O3DS had no NNID but the target did, both hands should belong to the target NNID as soon as you log back in with it. Hope this helps.
