i'm not a fanboy, i actually prefer cfw over gateway because it lets me do many things self contained. what concerns me is everyone's contrived misconceptions about gateway, due to the rumors they read about on the temp.

This thread right here, is a big part of why I'm apprehensive about asking for help.

Literally every guide meant for doing this A9 thing seems deliberately and maliciously intentful to break the Gateway support, with no actual method of how to have it available to me again.

I want to ask for help, but literally every time so far, I've been met with shit-posters that refuse to understand that I want to retain Gateway as an option to me, because I recognize right away that CFW isn't going to be an answer for everything for me at this time. Yet rather than respect that, we get people being toxic sperg-lords about it and having a salty attitude problem.

Sad thing is that they all point to plailect's guide like it's some tome of the Holy Bible/Quran/et al, but literally, the first step in it is specifically to break existing Gateway support for someone that's had it before any of this CFW nonsense was even a twinkle in the eyes of smea or anyone else.

Eh. There's guides that allow you install A9LH and Keep Gateway functionality. I'll see if I can't find one right quick.

Another thing is the pointless slamming of anything gw, there was literally a thread with a guy that could not use plaisysupdater as it bricked everytime, now I shared that I had a console that was behaving the same and I used the GW downgrade and it worked perfect first try, and what do you get?

Meh I would rather be bricked than use gw software gw is the devil, all their sw is brick code and robbed and error they kill babies

Now people may be wondering why hate on something that can actually do the job properly when the free version fails? Well because certain members are obsessed with trying to nitpick anything gw does and try sugar coat any failing of the free tools, even though the gw tools are still free to use anyway

I don't know about you, but I just like to have freedom on my console.

Whether or not I have to pay for it is irrelevant. However, if there is a free option that works well enough? I'm going to use it, and recommend it. Will it work for everyone else? Not necessarily.

they are both free options, and in my honest experience (particularly for the o3ds) the GW downgrader is more reliable

well as i said before, people like memoir is the reason i said, if you make a gateway thread, block that type of people, im surprised davidowsky is in here delivering hate, but you get my point, if you make a gateway thread, just block the haters, they wont be able to see your post and you theirs, so they wont matter anymore

yeah its just a shame people have to be so narrow minded as genuinely sometimes the GW software is actually useful and could help people if it wasnt for people with god knows what agenda spreading baseless shit using the GW software for the most part has always been free except the CFW side of things, all their downgraders etc have always been a free for all and gave many of the gatehaters their first taste of romz with palantine cfw

I'm going to be honest, almost anything you can do in Gateway, you can do in the homebrew launcher.
Obviously not including .3DS running, etc.

(I am talking about <=9.2, to avoid any confusion.)

I was referring to Gateway as a whole.

Their last round of downgraders were pretty reliable as well.

I hate Gateway's business practice. Not the hardware. I used to own a Gateway, but I sold it because I personally couldn't find it convenient. If it works for you? Great.
