Sorry i am a little out of the loop.. Can i use a legit e-shop copy of Freakyforms if i buy it? (My cart slot is busted beyond repair) Thanks
Yes.

what do you mean temporary? Does that mean I have to redo it?

And says new! nintendo 3DS so it must be new kind.
Temporary just means you don't modify the housing (the case) of the 3DS so you won't have any holes or anything like that.

I thought n3DS XL seemed way harder than o3DS XL, though, due to all the ribbon cables and such.

Nope, o3ds is probably the hardest. I wouldn't bother trying that one. I'd just pay.

Like the guy above me said, you don't make holes in housing. On top of that you won't have to buy connectors and try to make it look pretty.

You just solder the 4 wires, do the downgrade, desolder the wires and put it back together. You still need to destroy an sd card adapter, though.

Mind you that Nintendo removed Freakyforms Deluxe from the Eshop and currently the hax doesn't work on the regular version.

So theoretically I am soldering 4 wires onto the DAT0, CMD, CLK and also ground (GND), then soldering the other end to the SD card adapter?

Do I even need a butt connector? Cuz I can just remove the wires right after the downgrade?

Also, what happens to the sd card adapter? Is it unusable after the downgrade? Wait does the SD card adapter comes from inside the 3DS or outside?

You use a microsd to sd adapter. It is unusable after the downgrade. Using a butt connector is only necessary if you're doing a permanent mod.

If you're doing a temporary mod you don't need a connector. You can solder the wires directly to the sd card adapter.

The adapter will be destroyed after you're done with all this.

I recommend keeping the mod intact until you install arm9loaderhax. That way you can just use it to fix your 3ds if anything goes wrong with the installation. BUT, you really only need it for the downgrade.

And yeah, you're soldering the wires to those 4 points.

Once you have created your Franken-SD Adapter, connect the butt connectors together, and then put the makeshift microSD adapter into the SD reader(Make sure you have one of the readers from the list above!). DO NOT plug the SD reader into your computer yet…

that bolded statement confuses me. what is the microSD adapter and SD reader. Are they two parts of one thing?

You need one of these. This is the SD card reader. They're like 8 bucks

It's a N3DS, so most sd readers are not compatible, I always tell my customers to try whatever you have on first before you go and order anything. Once you have it all soldered, use win32diskimg to read / write. As suggested, leave it wired until arm9 is installed, incase you brick again.

Fixed

EDIT: Kinda Ninja'd

You list OOT here as a primary exploit, which you may get some replies for. Personally, I don't quite get why a lot of people don't consider OOT + powersaves to be a primary exploit. If it only counts as a secondary exploit because you need something additional (a Powersaves), then shouldn't every game which uses a cart count as a secondary exploit because it uses something additional (the cart)?

It makes more sense to define a secondary exploit as an exploit which requires you to use another exploit to install it. By that definition, OOT + powersaves should count as primary, since you can get it through purely retail purchases without using another exploit.
