Horizon Zero Dawn gets new trailer, delayed to 2017

After its initial reveal at E3 2015, Horizon Zero Dawn was slated for a 2016 release date. But it looks like that's been pushed back, as the game now has a release date of February 28, 2017. To make up for that, a new trailer has been released!

It wasn’t an easy choice to make; we know many of you have been anxious to play the game since we first announced it. However, we also want to ensure that Horizon Zero Dawn lives up to the visuals and gameplay quality that our games are known for. The new date affords us the extra time required to deliver fully on our ambitious vision for Horizon Zero Dawn.

We realize that this decision may not please everyone. At the same time, we’re confident that the advantages of the additional development time afforded by the new date will become clear in the coming months, as we start to share more cool details and videos from Horizon Zero Dawn. We really, really appreciate your patience and continued support, and look forward to bringing you the best game we possibly can in February 2017.

The game looks amazing. I love anachronistic (or at least seemingly anachronistic) settings like this. Hunting robodinos with bows and spears? Yes please. Now just announce a PC release.

Your comment doesn't even make any sense. "Live" game graphics? What does that even mean?
He means that the actual gameplay will not look nearly as good as what is shown in the trailer, assuming the trailer even is showing gameplay. You know, typical PC Master Race crap.

I just look at it this way: yeah, it's nice to look at, but what else is there. Avatar looked damn good and people flocked to see it (It's the second highest grossing film of all time), but you barely see anyone ever talk about it after the first month. And, keep in mind, this was for a two and a half hour film, imagine what it will be like over the course of an 8-10 hour campaign (Unless they shortened the narrative like The Order: 1886).

Heart of the swarm game graphics :

Heart of the swarm live game graphics (starts at 0:53):

That HoTS cinematic was literally that, a cinematic. Everyone knew what the graphics were going to be like, because WoL was already out.

As for Horizon, it looks like what the PS4 can pull off. Uncharted 4 looks beautiful, so it's possible. No shit they'll make the game look prettier for the trailers.

No it doesn't, unless you think every game where you kill monsters is a Monster Hunter clone.

they really didnt show anything but a small portion of combat and the girls face was weird. but the discription Kinda Funny Games gave of their behind closed doors play sounded like monster hunter gameplay. the combat looked great at first but it seemed it could get repetitive. as for graphics we cant rely on anything until the game actually comes out

There are already multiple gameplay videos on Youtube, like this:

It doesn't look like Monster Hunter to me. Sure, there are some aspects to it that Monster Hunter also has, but you could say that about tons of games. And yes, the combat could become repetitive, but every game's gameplay gets repetitive at one point or another. Whether or not it, the story, or various other features of the game is enough to keep someone engaged depends on the person playing.
