Sounds like a brick to me. Even if you could get into recovery mode, you would only be able to update to 11.0, which requires a hardmod to downgrade. Unfortunately, your only option is to get a hardmod if you want to recover from the brick.
Damn, this is a bummer... I wrote and quickly recorded a song to express my woes. I'ts titled "Bricked My First DS" Listen to it and feel my virtual pain... damn, I converted it to .wav but it wouldn't upload. It was pretty good too...

Hey so I tried recovery mode again, but held it longer this time, and it booted into recovery mode!! So at this point, updating to 11.0, although not possible to downgrade without hardmod, won't hardbrick it, right? I mean, a 3ds on 11.0 is still better than a bricked 3ds, amirite?

Yes, no longer exploitable (without a hardmod), but at least it works!

yeah. well, at least I can give my friend the DS that he paid me for. It's supposed to be modded, but maybe if I give him a game cart he'll be happy. And Ill look into a hardmodder in my area. Out of curiosity, does anyone know where to buy the hardmod sd connecter thing for doing it? I know it's hard (pun intended hehe), but I have electrician friends :P
P.S.: I am currently transferring the contents of my NEW3DS microSD after copying to my pc, to a 64GB microSD (formatted to fat32 32K cashe) and I've gotten a "file is too large for destination filesystem" error. Now, I'm assuming it's one of my installed .cias. It must have become larger than 4GB during installation? How should I go about transferring?
Thanks guys :D

Decided to move from RxTools Menuhax to A9LH+Luma, and Plailect guide says that I need to start from Part 4 BUT before this i need "change menuhax to type 1, set your menuhax trigger to D-Pad down", but after I choose Type 1 Menuhax manager just stuck and not reacting on pressing D-Pad down, can someone help me?

It might be easier to uninstall Menuhax by changing your theme, then install it again with the new settings.

Wow. really hitting a patch of bad luck here. on top of having file size transfer issues with my new sd card, my pokemon alpha sapphire cartridge save file is corrupted! I did a dump using uncart, and went through the process of everything with simple cia converter. except at the end when it actually converts to .cia it stops responding. so as it stands i have no .cia with my save file, and my retail cart has a corrupted save! Nowhere did I read that uncart wiped the save data... Or maybe I did it wrong...Any help muchly appreciated!

Simple CIA Converter will stop responding for a while. It's actually processing the game, so you don't need to worry about it doing that. Just wait a few minutes and it should finish. Not sure about the corrupted save though.

Really? man oh man... I've closed a hundred times thinking it was not working... I did let it go once but got a weird chinese error message after. So if it works, should the save data still be impregnated within the pokemon game? I'm hoping so because I already beat 3 gyms and bred myself an abra from poke y to have... :( poor abra...

The save data should be inside the ROM, but I don't think it gets carried to the cia, since CIAs store their saves to the SD card.

hmm... so the .cia from my retail cart is no different than a downloaded one? So I need to use savedatafilter to filter the .3ds file? where do I put it once it is filtered? I tried using svdt, but it is confusing as all hell.

Yes, a converted cia functions just like one you would get from the eShop (I assume most of the cias found online come from converted ROMs). I think you would need a Gateway to get the save from the .3ds file, since Gateway is the only option that supports launching .3ds ROMs. Even then, I'm not sure if it would work since Gateway does something weird with games' save encryption (it still uses 4.X save encryption, even for games that use 6.x save encryption). You might have better luck with JK's SaveManager than svdt.

Awesome, I'll try that, thank you. Also, I am having a really frustrating issue with transferring my sd data to a new card. I have copied the entire contents to a folder to my pc. Formatted the new (64GB) card to fat32 32K cluster, but when I transfer the copied folders (i just tried with only the nintendo 3ds folder too) I get some files at the end saying they are too large for the destination file system. however, upon inspection, the files in question are NOT EVEN larger than 1GB! I am so confused.. plus with this save issue. I'm a little befuddled. Thank you very much for your help.

OK, so JKSM seems to be a much better program. Now is there some way I can EITHER restore my save back to my cart from the .3ds file I dumped? OR use the .3ds file to export the save to my installed .cia game?
EDIT: I was able to import my Ocarina save file to the installed game in literally 10 seconds... I reeeeaaaalllllyyyy wish i had found this before I spent like 4 hours trying to dump the cart for my pokemon game... Now it seems I am left with a corrupted save on my cart, and an unusable save in the .3ds file? Hmmmm...

One more question about A9HL, part 3 says "If your RedNAND / EmuNAND has been updated to version 11.0.0 or higher, you must either put the NTR firmware.bin from part 5 into the /luma/ folder", I don't have Luma, but i updated RxTools to latest 11 FW, so should I just create a "luma" folder on the root of sd card and put NTR firmware.bin in it?

if rxTools is your CFW then you would want to put the firmware file in it's folder somewhere would you not? I'm thinking if you don't have Luma3DS in your sd card and aren't using Luma, making a Luma folder won't be recognized by rxTools. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, thank you, all this "Do EXACTLY to dot as guide says" just a bit confusing me

Yeah, I reccomend just using Luma3DS and using the guide. I just bricked my first 3DS today (wrote a song about it lol) by making a TINY error (OK pretty big one, I downgraded sysNAND instead of emuNAND to 2.1, effectively softbricking it) but it's just much easier to ensure you don't make simple errors by following the guide verbatim. Also, slows down on the HELP threads lol. anyway, best of luck! I am in no way an expert but I was able to successfully get arm9lhax on my new 3ds with that guide, so I can at least say that it works!
EDIT: But to conclude, you probably want to put the firmware.bin in the rxTools' directory somewhere so it can find it. XD

I've finally got A9LH on my N3DS. I have Luma3DS for my CFW SysNAND. I want to know, how do I go about running and loading an EmuNAND with this setup? My A9LH SysNAND is on version 11.
