OP
noob question probably but, why dafuq is your game on the home menu? like, doesn't homebrew games only run on the homebrew launcher?
(noob indeed)

You can make homebrew into proper 3ds apps, but you need a 3ds on 9.2 or lower.

lel, the 3d banner is all missing texture
That's something to work on. I've not really been that familiar with making 3d banners. I'm using Sketchup to make my models, so it could be something to do with the texture exporter. Also, for that matter, I have to go and export the model as .DAE in the first place, then convert it to .OBJ, then convert it to CGFX using Every File Explorer. In the preview panel though, the textures on the model seem normal, so it must be either something to do with bannertool.exe, the way the 3DS renders the textures, or the flags in icon.bin.

Did you tell your mom? Was she proud?
But seriously, this is great. Good job!
I work on these projects alone in my bedroom, so my mom doesn't really see them! :D

I hope, that it is somehow possible for me as an O3DS user to play them, and that they are not N3DS only. :D

I never actually know why they just chose N3DS instead of O3DS and N3DS. I think it's just a marketting gimmick to get you to buy a N3DS! :D

I wonder if they mean Nintendo 3ds by N3ds and not New 3ds... Possible ofc, though I doubt it would be too hard to port unity stuff to the o3ds properly if it isn't the case

Hai, guys!

I've finally got round to finishing my first homebrew, coded in C, using libsf2d and some other libs! It's a small project, as you might gue....
Awesome! Where did you learn to program? (Wanting to learn it myself, but I'm kind of lazy and we have so much damn homework..)

I mean just coding in general. (For pc as well) Unless you learned it that way
Ah, well I started off by learning some Unity 3D coding (which was in C# and in Javascript), and then transferred those skills over to this project! :)

Didn't Voxel quit 3DS homebrew or something?
Sort of... I might make a comeback by making a game engine, or something like that! :)
I've recently signed up for the Wii U developers program by Nintendo, so I'm currently waiting to be approved to get some Wii U dev tools! ;)

I started around 6-7 years ago with programming in C++. Over the years i got better, but it really started only around 2 years ago with Java. Up to today I have tryed a lot of different languages like C, C++, Java, HTML, PHP, Javascript, Lua and Python. But the only languages I am good at are Java and C. I think the best way to get into programming are script based programming languages like Lua and Python. If you want to programm for the 3ds I would recommend you programming in Lua, and then move over to C. There are some really good Lua tutorials out there, just google for them. Once you understand the basics of programming, you can programm in nearly every language, after you looked a bit into them.

Don't you have to pay a lot of money to get that?
Yes, although no one "knows" since those details are supposed to be under NDA. I did a quick search for comparison and the xbox 360 dev kit was "rumored" (aka they didn't get sued yet) that it initially cost $10,000.

It's only the hardware that costs you. (around $5K)
It's completely free to sign up for software.

Isn't the software useless when you don't have the hardware to use it on? :V

Edit:B
Looking at the website, according to this quote:
Nintendo said:
Q: How much does it cost to develop on Wii U?
It’s free of charge to participate in the program and to submit games to Nintendo for technical certification. There is some cost involved for Wii U development hardware, but we run a program to help developers who are just getting started
Probably means that you can only do unity/nwm or they do some kind of financing for indie developers (?)
