I am looking for a slot 1 flash cart with GBA capabilities and, from the review I read, the EZ-V 3-in-1 Expansion Pack sounds like a great flash cart but I've heard that the M3 Real will be better and possibly have GBA support, should I wait for that?

Wait for M3 Real

or

go with the best package as of now:

R4 + EZ Flash IV deluxe lite. The R4 is the best for DS, and EZ Flash IV is probably the best in GBA.

What more could you ask for?

read the main page, the ez flash v bundle works, but like the M3 real it is not out yet (the ez flash v bundle will be in stock at most sites by end of month), so you either wait for the ez flash v bundle but by the time its in stock the M3 real might be out, but the ez flash v bundle works great, and who knows if it supports gba or not, but we know the specs of the ez flash v bunlde since the staff here at gbatemp reviewed the new rumble kit and say that all gba roms work, and the opera browser works.

I would wait for M3 Real.
As M3 Team announced, it will a complete new device and M3 Real will act like a genuine NDS game cart.
We´ll see.

How much better could the M3 Real possibly be? What other features exist out there that aren't present on the EZ V w/ Expansion pack?

it could be anytiing, i mean the ez flash v expansion pack you can only load one gba game at once maybe the M3 you can load as many as you want, and it might be better at download play maybe even better then the ds-xtreme is right now, we cant compare since its not out yet.

Get the EZ-Flash V + Expansion.

The EZ-Team has had the best GBA support ever and they are known worldwide for that, and their latest EZ-V also has excellent support for the DS just like for the GBA.

The interface I find is alot better looking too compared to the current R4/M3 (ugly text and highlighted text colours when selecting games) and is alot more skinnable since the whole thing is basically Moonshell (even though the R4/M3 are based on that)

I have yet to find a game that doesn't work, and download play also works (I'm sending to flashed DSes though). I don't understand why not many people own the EZ-V though. It's a very good card, and it's much better than the SC-DS/M3S/R4 IMO (I've tried all of them since my friend is a dealer).

Although you can only write one game at a time to the Expasion Pak, I think it's merely so you can do NDS-GBA linkage. The EZ-Team listens alot to its customers and supporters, so I can see that they'll allow multiple ROMs to be written to it in the future.

I do own a ez5 myself, so just to add my observation

Hardware-wise, it has no serious problems I can see. But software they left much to be desired for, it was only until very recently did they resolve a very serious save corruption problem with their firmware. In all honesty I can't say the ez5 has had a great launch. Until the recent expansion pak, the gba-support ez is well-known for has very little to do with ez5 itself. And note that the expansion pak uses NORflash instead of any PSram at all, so the gba support isn't very attractive if you want to switch between more than a couple of gba games at any one time; a slot-2 gba card would be a better solution for that. Just be prepared to get what you pay for, mainly the rumble and expansion memory, and ds-gba link

Look, all the slot 1's are pretty young and the EZ5 did pretty well compared to other slot 1's at the time. And just buy the expansion pack because if you wait for the M3 real then you'll wait for some other ultimate card too and you will keep on waiting forever.
