Well I just tried out Mario 64 on the Wii U VC, the gamecube controller didn't work. The adapter doesn't even get power. So stupid! I mean if Nintendo is going to have a console that is specific for Nintendo fans, make their favorite controller able to play the games! I mean to make the adapter just for one game is just silly.

That's the idea, weird as it is. The marketing campaign is so dedicated the adapter even has an SSB logo on its retail box.

I bought the adapter with the assumption that it would eventually support more games. Guess it was dumb of me to assume Nintendo would make good decisions.

I knew there was a good chance that Nintendo would Nintendo the GameCube controller adapter, however I also knew that there would be unofficial applications of the product. Such as Nintendont supporting it or being able to use it on PC games or Dolphin.

They are out but I would still get the mayflash as it is cheaper.

The Mayflash is cheaper, but you don't have to pay $39 or whatever off amazon for a Nintendo brand adapter. I just ordered one directly from Nintendo yesterday - $19.99, $5 shipping, plus sales tax = $26.74

I bought it for my kids for Smash Bros., but also for the possibility I might get my own Wii U after a price drop and use the adapter & my GC controllers with Nintendont.

I bought a console only with cables on eBay for $101 delivered. If you are patient you can do even better. I just resync the GP if I need it for something.

I would be upset if the adaptor was on the market for more than a week and was actually spread far enough to make a difference.
Seriously Nintendo, what the fuck was that all about?
