by using Gameboy itself. you need to spend money on games. i still remember when i spend 60 dollars Metroid Fusion, and a month later discovered emu's and game onLINE FOR FREE.
kills me to the day
but all goods now emu are fun and you can pretty much use them on any OS.

p.s. i currently playing pokemon yellow on GB.

Gamecube with gameboy player!

Yes, and the ultimate would be if you could get the Hori controller for GC that looks like an SNES controller.

I would probably donate a kidney.

I think emulation with the Supercard DSTwo is the best way, since I can carry my 3DS with me. If it wasn't for the portability issue, I would say that the GB Player is the best way. After all, the GB Player plays games on a TV!

In my experience the Supercard DStwo emulation is lacking. Games play much smoother with and EZ Flash IV and a DS lite/phat

I did not realize how bad the emulation was until I got the EZ Flash IV

For me
1. EZ Flash IV
2. Wii U (limited library but Metroid Fusion has been awesome)
3. PC Emulation

Obviously one one is portable. On my recent flight I brought my 3DS XL and my Phat DS

Circle of the Moon is the one Nintendo Portable Castlevania I have yet to beat. It seems to be one of the more challenging...I just got the roc wing

I was going to bid on a black one, but the price went a bit over my budget.
It ended at approximately 116$USD with shipping included.

Regular GBA w/ backlight mod. When I was younger, the SP was just fine, but I've found that despite my hands being pretty small, they have gotten a bit too big for the SP to be comfortable. Otherwise, for games like Pokemon, emulation on a smartphone is neat, and there's also the PSP.

Original DS should be on the list. Screens aren't as good as DSL, but it looks loads better than a GBA or frontlit GBASP, and the buttons and Dpad are a lot better than DSL. Plus the games don't stick out.

With the premise of the 3DS I think a good theoretical way would be using the Nintendo emulator for the ambassador games. This is similar to how the rom in the wad file of virtual console games is replaced on the wii. A new member with this idea created a thread to ask if this was possible. Later a well known member posted two proof of concept pictures without any additional information. Whether this was authentic or not eventually this caused the topic go go into a downward spiral causing its closure.

Stop hijacking my poll whoever did that. I didn't include the GB Player because it isn't portable and crap. PC emulators aren't portable either and don't count. If you want a bitch about it you should have included all the options there is, smartphones, dingo, pandora, nvidia shield etc.

Windows Tablets and laptops are beautiful devices.

The true answer is either backlit OG GBA or GBA SP. They're both perfect. It all comes down to personal preference between the two. I like the OG better because of the look and ergonomics. They're still strong even today and they're the only way to play GBA games, portably, at their native resolution on a relatively large screen.

A PSP just won't cut it. The PSP's internal resolution isn't enough to run the games at 2x res so you either play at a tiny 1x resolution window or stretch it and add filters, plus the D-pad is terrible. A DS Lite is awful too because the button layout is wrong on it. They should have given the option to map the damn thing to B and Y instead of A and B. Plus, there's well two screens and that's pretty distractive when playing, and also the play window is smaller than on the OG GBA/SP thanks to the GBA having a slightly higher resolution; it's not a major difference, but still, smaller.

GBA games will only look and play their best on a GBA, period.

I will have to look up what model I got.

I never found the buttons on the DS to be a problem for playing GBA games. It's just that my phat has a pretty dim screen, the lower brightness setting is basically too dark to see anything even in the best lighting. I have 2 DS lites that have replacement shells on them and while the screens look great one has a bad shoulder button and the other has a screen imperfection. I think I may just have to find another DS lite with original shell but for now my phat DS is probably my best option due to the superior buttons/original shell.

What do you mean? The resolution of the PSP screen doesn't matter in the sense that the image will be stretched and filtered regardless of the screen resolution. Plus GBA games look stunning on the PSP Go, never owned any UMD PSPs.
