If you people can... Report if you are getting a fuzzy sound on Meteos and you use FlashMe v7 or a Pass device.

I have heard that FlashMe v7 has an audio bug but this never really came to light...

Pass devices. Doesn't matter which one I use, no problem.

I already answered this above - Mario Kart does not work with soft reset. It's contained in the readme files as a known incompatibility.

I just tried Meteos with no reset/dofat/no trim. Same thing, loud buzzing in the right speaker.

Tried Ultimate Spider-Man with no reset/safe mode/no trim and it froze in the same spot as before, right after he says "I felt good"

@Deaddy:
Is your NDSL flashed? Or are you using a passcard?

@others:
I tried the European version of Meteos, and the static sound still occured, but it took a -much- longer time to occur, and it took a lot of switches from the options screen to the main menu at times. On the USA version, it happened as soon as I went to options and back, right away. Of course this could also be a different music pattern; the music on the Euro version seemed a bit different when at the main menu....

I suspect this is either a dump issue or a G6 issue.
I actually ran noflashme and went "back" to V6 firmware (this is not the correct firmware for a DSL, though; DS and GBA slots work fine, Brightness settings work fine, The alarm icon works fine, but clicking on the DS Options, Picochat or DS Download play crashes the DSL), and had to use the passcard again, of course, and the static still occured in Meteos. This makes me think it is definitely either a dump or a G6 problem. I then reflashed with flashme7.

Can someone using a flashed DSL please use the retail USA Meteos Cart (not the rom), if you have it, and see if the static still occurs? I bet you it won't....

Deaddy:

Try re-flash it with "normal" instead of dofat. In my experience that works best.
Okay, thanks. I'm also going to try the european rom just in case (103).

Weird it's not allowing me to choose Normal. I can choose any of the other 3 options but not Normal.

Did anyone notice if you choose Write and then load a rom but cancel without writing it, it still pops up the Write OK! window? Heh. This makes me wonder if that window really means anything..

Update: Tried the US Meteos with the only remaining option Direct Copy or whatever it was.. got nothin but 2 white screens. Oh well. Guess I'll stick to my legit card.

Solved my Meteos problem! I tried the EU rom, #103 and my first try (Soft reset/dofat/trim) worked fine. No audio issues. And it even accepted my US legit game card's save file. Nice.

The Audio issues do come up if you go back to the options/main menu enough times. It took over 20 tries to come up on my #103 rom. Whereas on the USA version the static appeared on the first try. The game itself plays fine, though.

I reflashed the USA version because the startup music is cooler...the EU version sounds toned down or something-.-

I was pretty thorough, I spent about 5 minutes flipping through the menus. I'll take your word for it though and post an update if I encounter it again.

Seems to be right about the U version. And can't seem to flash it in "normal" mode as I suggested earlier (which is a little weird). The E version seems to be fine though, can't get the audio glitch no matter how many times I go back and forth to the main menu (definately tried more than 20 times), go back and forth from sleep mode as earlier suggested would be causing it.

Edit: Meteos

I checked whether Ultimate Spidey could be written with Normal mode and the option was not available for that game either.

I guess that's a sign for knocking on wood.
I had a lot of trouble getting the glitch on the (E) version, but I did manage to get it. I think it's more of it being at a certain "point" in the main menu song which triggers it. Unlike the (U) version where it happens right away.
I kept going through menus left and right (the sounds are pretty cool, anyway) until I made it happen. I must be trying too hard 8^

The E version definitely has different music, though. (unless I'm getting deaf in my old age); that may be the reason for it.

And I also don't know why some roms won't patch in "Normal" mode.
I just tried Top Gun (which is a new release) and that patched in normal mode and wasn't even directly "supposed" by the 4.1F version as there was no mention in the readme...but it ran....yet Meteos won't patch in normal mode....

I tried the (E) version. I don't think that's it. I'm noticing a small audio skip in the music on gameplay mode selection. Hit simple or star trip and listen closely.

Not bad, but not perfect.

    @The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
